Our primary goal is to provide robust foundations that enhance humanities instruction and research. We collaborate on digital projects and deliver technical expertise and solutions tailored to the unique needs of the humanities community.

Position Summary
HumTech is seeking a Software Developer to enhance the Humanities Division’s web presence with dynamic, forward-thinking solutions focused on best coding practices. This role will provide technical leadership to the web team, ensuring that our digital offerings meet the highest standards. We seek an individual who stays abreast of current standards and emerging technologies, and can effectively adapt them to meet the diverse needs of our higher education clients. This position is based at UCLA's main Westwood campus and will require some in-person attendance.

Qualifications
- 5 years equivalent experience (Required)
- Proficiency in frontend technologies: HTML, CSS, JavaScript, TypeScript (Required)
- Expertise with frontend frameworks and libraries such as React, Angular, or Vue.js (Required)
- Strong backend development experience with Node.js, Express, or similar frameworks. Proficiency in PHP and content management systems like WordPress or Drupal (Required)
- Strong analytical skills to troubleshoot, resolve technical issues, and foresee potential problems. Ability to implement proactive solutions to mitigate risks and streamline processes. Flexibility to adapt to changing project requirements and learn new technologies as needed. (Required)
- Experience with version control systems like Git and platforms such as GitHub or GitLab (Required)
- Familiarity with database technologies (SQL and NoSQL) such as MySQL, PostgreSQL, or MongoDB (Required)
- Experience with automated testing tools and frameworks (e.g. Jest, Mocha, Selenium) (Required)
- Strong understanding of accessibility standards (WCAG 2.1) and experience in developing accessible web applications (Required)
- Knowledge of web hosting platforms and cloud services (AWS, GCP, Azure). Proficiency in CI/CD pipeline tools such as Jenkins, GitHub Actions, or GitLab CI (Preferred)
- Understanding of web security best practices and familiarity with security monitoring tools (e.g., FireEye, Qualys, ModSecurity) (Preferred)
- Excellent verbal and written communication skills for effective collaboration with clients, team members, and stakeholders at all levels. Ability to explain complex technical concepts in a clear, concise manner to non-technical audiences. (Required)
