We are seeking a dynamic and visionary Director of Electrical Engineering to join our senior leadership team. This role will be pivotal in shaping the future of our Electrical Engineering Discipline, supporting the company’s strategic business initiatives, and driving our presence within the community.
As the Director of Electrical Engineering, you will lead and inspire multiple design teams, setting the design vision, and ensuring creative excellence across all projects. This role demands a blend of technical expertise, leadership acumen, and a deep commitment to fostering innovation and collaboration within the firm and the industry.
Key Responsibilities:
- Design Leadership: Promote and engage the firm’s mission, vision, and goals through design leadership. Establish a design approach with electrical engineering practice leadership, focusing on forming appropriate teams and creating strategies that align with client expectations.
- Creative Process: Implement the design approach throughout all project phases, ensuring cohesive, innovative, and client-centric solutions. Provide firm-wide design direction and maintain high-quality standards across all projects.
- Strategic Development: Collaborate with practice leadership to establish goals, strategies, and investment plans for the growth of the practice. Engage in resource allocation, budgeting, and project delivery strategies to drive profitability and align with the firm's core values.
- Community Engagement: Strengthen the firm’s market reputation through thought leadership and active participation in professional and community organizations. Promote a culture of inclusivity, respect, and collaboration both within the firm and the broader community.
- Staff Development: Lead recruitment and retention efforts, mentor staff, and conduct annual performance evaluations. Foster a culture of continuous learning and professional growth, especially in design and engineering excellence.
Qualifications:
- Bachelor’s degree in Electrical Engineering from an accredited four-year college or university.
- 15+ years of experience in Electrical Engineering Design, with a proven track record as a lead designer on complex projects.
- Completion of the PE Exam is required; licensure in the state of Tennessee is preferred.
- Thorough knowledge of the Electrical Engineering Discipline, with an emphasis on understanding client expectations and delivering exceptional design solutions.
- Proficiency in current design software, including AutoCAD and Revit (preferred), as well as the Microsoft Office suite.
- Experience with sustainable design and benchmarking, and familiarity with multiple engineering practice markets.
- Excellent communication skills (graphic, verbal, and written), with a collaborative and professional work ethic.
- Active involvement in local and national professional organizations is expected.

Pay: $120,000.00 - $150,000.00 per year
