Senior Engineer, Reliability
Play a critical role in the development of new life sciences technology as a Senior Reliability Engineer in the Reliability Engineering team within R&D, enabling our products to realize their promise to improve human health. Guide project teams through reliability specification, Design for Reliability (DFR), reliability test planning and execution, defect prioritization, failure analysis, root cause investigation, corrective action implementation, and final validation. Assess product risk through data-driven statistical analysis. Be an ambassador of customer experience, design quality, and reliability.
Primary duties include the following:
• Analyze field data to identify top reliability issues.
• Utilize problem solving methodologies to determine root cause, corrective action. Define reliability test plan to validate corrective action.
• Hands-on reliability testing, as needed, including working in the lab. Outsource testing, as appropriate, to vendor or manufacturer. Monitor reliability testing. Report results on periodic basis to product team.
• Utilize statistical techniques to analyze test data. Approve or disapprove corrective action based on test results.
• Share lessons learned from field failures to other product teams
• Be a champion for reliability best practices in R&D.
Minimum Qualifications:
• A minimum of a Bachelor's degree in engineering or related discipline.
• A minimum of 5 years of reliability engineering experience including reliability risk assessments, implementation of reliability test plans.
• Knowledge of reliability fundamentals and experience in reliability techniques including FMEA, FTA, Accelerated life testing including HALT, statistical analysis such as Weibull analysis. Experience with data analysis using statistical softwares.
• Demonstrated technical writing ability for preparation of plans and reports.
• Attention to detail, demonstrated ability to work productively in large cross-functional teams.
• Excellent communication skills at technical and program level.
• Willingness to prepare blood samples for testing (training will be provided).
In addition to the above minimum qualifications, the following are considered desirable:
• 8 years of experience working in reliability discipline.
• Knowledge of fluidics, optics, and electronics.
• Experience with test automation (Labview, Arduino, etc).
• Demonstrated ability to utilize test and measurement equipment.
• Experience managing large sets of data using data processing tools such as Minitab, MATLAB, JMP, or R.
