Overview:
To better serve the global auto industry electric vehicle trend in the United States, we are seeking a meticulous and detail-oriented Quality Testing and Inspection Engineer to manage and enhance the quality testing processes for battery core testing and related equipment. The ideal candidate will oversee various testing methods, improve inspection efficiency, and ensure compliance with quality standards.
Travel: Yes. Please note that this role needs to go to HQ-China for 3 months training. Please check with candidates about traveling first. If candidates are ok with traveling, then we can move forward with the applications. CATK will help with the Visa to go to China.
From a practical perspective, going to China for training can be quite nice, as they can experience a different culture, food, and environment. The convenience of living in China is very high. Each training session doesn’t necessarily have to last the full three months; it might be shorter. Also, there will be quite a few candidates going for training, so they won't be alone.
Essential Functions
- Oversee the quality management of battery core testing, including physical and chemical testing, appearance inspection, and the use of specialized testing equipment such as CT machines, CMM machines, and microscopes.
- Enhance the effectiveness of quality testing items by developing and refining testing methods.
- Monitor daily data related to quality inspections, analyze problems, and set up projects to drive continuous improvement.
- Develop advanced detection methods to improve the accuracy and reliability of quality inspections.
- Focus on improving detection efficiency and reducing the costs associated with detection quality.
- Collaborate with on-site process teams, equipment operators, and production departments to analyze process problems
Minimum Qualifications:
- Bachelor’s degree in Engineering, Quality Management, or a related field.
- Minimum of 3 years of experience in quality testing and inspection, particularly in the battery industry.
- Proficient in using and managing advanced testing equipment such as CT machines, CMM machines, and microscopes.
- Strong knowledge of quality management systems and testing standardization.
- Mastery in the use and principles of conventional physical and chemical detection instruments.
- Familiar with the development of measurement methods and handling abnormal measurements.
- Knowledge of calibration specifications for various measuring instruments.
- Strong data analysis and processing abilities.
- Proficient in using office software (e.g., Microsoft Office Suite).
- Strong problem-solving skills and attention to detail.
- Excellent communication and interpersonal skills.
- Ability to maintain a full-time work schedule with regular in-person attendance is required for this position.
- Ability to interact professionally with individuals of varied backgrounds and skill level.
Preferred Qualifications:
- Six Sigma Green Belt or above is preferred, with proficiency in quality analysis tools such as Minitab, JMP, and other relevant software.
- Auditor certificates in IATF16949 and VDA6.3 are preferred.
Physical Requirements:
- Ability to move around work sites, which may include walking, standing, and climbing ladders or stairs.
- Flexibility to bend, kneel, or crouch, particularly when inspecting installations or troubleshooting.
- Capability to lift and carry moderate weights, typically up to 25-50 pounds.
- Occasional lifting of heavier items may be required.
- Ability to work in various environments, including offices, construction sites, and manufacturing facilities.
- Willingness and ability to travel to various job sites, which may require driving or other forms of transportation.
