Program structure:
- Duration/Schedule: full-time during the summer months
- Fully Onsite
- Start Date: May 2025
- Enrollment in a four-year degree program in Materials Science, Metallurgical Engineering, Mechanical Engineering or a related field with current status of at least a Sophomore level.
- Cumulative GPA of 2.75 or higher.
- Proficient in Microsoft Office software: Excel, Word, and PowerPoint.
- Strong verbal and written communication skills.
- Strong interpersonal and relationship building skills.
- Ability to succeed in a team environment.
- Ability to handle multiple tasks.
- Experience with Auto CAD and Pro-E.
- Assist in the analysis and testing of raw materials and finished products to ensure compliance with quality standards.
- Support the development and optimization of metallurgical processes, including melting, casting, and heat treatment.
- Conduct metallurgical investigations and failure analyses to identify root causes and recommend corrective actions.
- Collaborate with the engineering team to develop and implement process improvements.
- Participate in research projects focused on new materials and technologies.
- Maintain accurate records of experiments, tests, and analyses.
- Document and improve processes.
