Job Title: CNC MachinistJob DescriptionWe are seeking an experienced CNC Machinist to join our dynamic team. The ideal candidate will have a strong background in CNC programming and operation, with a focus on producing high-quality parts. This role requires hands-on experience with OKUMA CNC machines, and the ability to troubleshoot and optimize manufacturing processes.ResponsibilitiesCreate and optimize CNC programs on the CNC machine using G-code programming.Set up and operate CNC machines to produce high-quality parts in single piece and series production.Select tools and fixtures to meet the requirements of the new production line.Demonstrate proven knowledge and skills in operating and programming OKUMA CNC Machines.Monitor manufacturing processes and react as necessary to maintain proper operation.Perform routine maintenance and troubleshooting on CNC machines to ensure optimal performance.Provide input and ideas for process improvement and optimization (e.g., 6S, SMED).Maintain accurate records of production data, such as part counts and cycle times.Identify and troubleshoot problems that arise during the manufacturing process to ensure high-quality production.Create machining processes for lathes with live tooling.Provide technical knowledge to support the acquisition of new machines.Ensure compliance with all safety regulations and protocols.Essential SkillsHigh school diploma or equivalent required; post-secondary education in a relevant field is preferred.5 or more years of experience in CNC programming and operation with strong knowledge and skills.Familiarity with Okuma CNC machines is preferred.Strong problem-solving and critical thinking skills.Excellent attention to detail and quality control.Strong communication and teamwork skills.Willingness to work flexible hours as needed to meet project deadlines.Knowledge of basic math and geometry.Ability to understand work orders and drawings and to follow detailed instructions.Proficiency with micrometers and other common measuring instruments.Mechanical aptitude and ability to use simple hand tools.Additional Skills & QualificationsPost-secondary education in a relevant field.Experience with process improvement methodologies (e.g., 6S, SMED).Why Work Here?Enjoy a climate-controlled environment, work with a growing company that offers competitive starting pay, room for growth, and newer machines.Work EnvironmentClimate-controlled environment, although it can get warm in summers with bay doors open when shipping out products.Job Type & LocationThis is a Permanent position based out of Ladson, South Carolina.About Aerotek:We know that finding work is hard, and finding meaningful work is harder.
