Aerospace Supplier Quality Engineer.
Job Summary:
We are seeking a detail-oriented Aerospace Supplier Quality Engineer to join our team. In this role, you will be responsible for ensuring the quality and reliability of components and materials supplied by our vendors. You will collaborate with suppliers and internal teams to implement quality improvement initiatives, conduct audits, and ensure compliance with industry standards.
Key Responsibilities:
- Supplier Assessment: Evaluate and qualify new suppliers through audits and assessments, ensuring they meet company quality standards.
- Quality Assurance: Develop and implement quality control plans, inspection criteria, and testing protocols for incoming materials and components.
- Non-Conformance Management: Investigate and resolve supplier non-conformance issues, collaborating with suppliers to implement corrective actions.
- Data Analysis: Analyze quality data and trends to identify areas for improvement and drive supplier performance enhancements.
- Documentation: Maintain accurate records of supplier quality audits, inspections, and non-conformance reports.
- Collaboration: Work closely with cross-functional teams including engineering, manufacturing, and supply chain to ensure quality requirements are met throughout the production process.
- Training: Provide training and support to suppliers on quality standards and best practices.
- Continuous Improvement: Lead and participate in continuous improvement initiatives related to supplier quality, using tools such as Six Sigma and Lean Manufacturing.
Qualifications:
- Bachelor’s degree in Engineering, Quality Assurance, or a related field.
- 5+ years of experience in supplier quality engineering or a related role within a manufacturing environment.
- Strong knowledge of quality management systems (e.g., ISO 9001) and quality tools (e.g., FMEA, SPC, 8D).
- Excellent analytical and problem-solving skills.
- Strong communication and interpersonal skills to effectively work with suppliers and internal teams.
- Proficient in MS Office Suite and quality management software.
- Certification in Quality Engineering (CQE) or related credentials is a plus.
