We're seeking a talented Senior Software Engineering Manager to join our team.

In this position...

You will lead a passionate group of Engineers on the API Strategy for Ford Credit for its Digital Products, including application architecture discussions with Enterprise Architecture, engineers, and product teams.

You will be part of an Orchestration platform team responsible for API Security and a Federated GraphQL-based API platform, reporting to the Director of Engineering.

What you'll do...

  1. Define a platform roadmap for modernization, enabling features for the current stack and paving the way for the future.
  2. Provide thought and solution leadership from an API-first perspective and establish best practices.
  3. Understand high-level digital channel requirements, translate them into system and process requirements, and manage system implementation.
  4. Experience with Federated GraphQL API Implementation, including best practices from security and GraphQL router configuration.
  5. Guide and mentor a team of 15-30 Engineers, collaborating with both onshore and offshore teams.

You'll have...

  1. Bachelor’s degree in computer science, information systems or related fields.
  2. 10+ years experience in managing/leading API/backend projects and/or teams.
  3. Working experience in end-to-end delivery from design, development, integrations, monitoring, and logging solutions into production operations.
  4. Apollo GraphQL certifications are required.

Even better, you may have...

  1. Masters degree in computer science, information systems or related fields.
  2. Excellent oral and writing communication skills.
  3. Understanding of Apollo Studio development environment and tools.
  4. Project Management methodologies and tools, preferably Agile methodologies, Jira tools.
  5. Familiarity with DevOps and Automation tools and processes like GitOps.
  6. Experience in the Automotive industry is a plus, not mandatory.
  7. Knowledge of GCP Platform is a plus.
