Job Title: Computer Engineering Researcher

Location: Seven Corners, VA (Hybrid: Tuesday - Thursday on-site)

Overview:

Join our innovative team as a Computer Engineering Researcher, focusing on cutting-edge hardware solutions for national importance. In this role, you will drive research and development of advanced computer architectures, develop prototypes, and lead laboratory demonstrations. Collaborate with peers and organizations like DARPA, IARPA, and the CHIPS Act, and contribute to top-tier conferences. Engage with MOSIS 2.0, California DREAMS, and the Application-Specific Intelligent Computing Lab to advance CMOS and Beyond CMOS technologies. Potential career growth includes paths to research faculty positions.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Research and develop innovative hardware solutions.

  • Propose and prototype major advancements in computer architecture.

  • Lead laboratory demonstrations and publish results in leading conferences.

  • Develop designs for applied research programs supported by major sponsors.

  • Utilize MOSIS 2.0 and collaborate with research labs on advanced computing systems.

Qualifications:

  • Strong track record of publications in computer architecture, chip design, or prototyping.

  • Proficient in computer hardware design (Verilog/System Verilog/VHDL).

  • Experience in system modeling with Python, C++, or similar.

  • Ability to work hybrid in our Seven Corners, VA office.

  • U.S. citizenship required; eligibility to apply for a Top Secret clearance (current SECRET clearance is a plus).

Preferred Qualifications:

  • Experience in proposal development.

  • FPGA-based development or application mapping expertise.

  • Familiarity with EDA tools and scripting.

  • Knowledge of graph-based algorithms or EDA algorithms.

  • Experience with neuromorphic or non-von Neumann computing approaches.
