Senior Mechanical Engineer

Barrett Woodyard & Associates is looking for a Mechanical Engineer to join our project team in our Peachtree Corners, GA office. At BW&A, our goal is to provide the highest level of engineering service to our clients. As a Mechanical Engineer, you will design Mechanical systems on a variety of projects. A successful candidate can expect to gain valuable engineering experience in designing HVAC and plumbing systems, planning and analyzing mechanical systems for various projects including but not limited to: high rise office buildings, general and medical office space, hospitality/hotels, educational facilities, distribution centers, manufacturing, retail and other commercial/industrial/institutional projects.

Primary Responsibilities

1. Lead the designing and specifying of HVAC, plumbing, fire protection, control systems. Perform load calculations, equipment sizing, and selection for assigned projects.
2. Communicate with clients, contractors and other project team members as needed to support project design.
3. Generate construction documents using AutoCAD/Revit.
4. Manage multiple projects through design through completion of construction.
5. Coordinate with design team professionals of other disciplines as they perform their designs to ensure proper coordination on construction documents.
6. Research and apply applicable codes to design.
7. Perform project site visits during design and construction to ensure proper implementation of the design documents.
8. All other duties as assigned.

Qualifications

1. Bachelor of Science in Mechanical Engineering (BSME) or equivalent BSMT.
2. 4+ years of related engineering experience.
3. Professional Engineer License required.
