The City of Fayetteville is currently recruiting for an IT Web Architect to manage all aspects of the SharePoint environment, including design, development, architecture, availability, reliability, performance, monitoring and security of the portal. This position plays an integral part in the development of strategies for optimal use of SharePoint and other collaborative tools within the City of Fayetteville organization.

  1. Oversees the SharePoint Portal Server infrastructure, user access and application deployment – taking the lead role in implementing SharePoint across the organization. Supports the installation, configuration, security, operation, and maintenance of all web portal servers, equipment, and software related to SharePoint infrastructure.
  2. Participates in planning and execution of tasks related to the evaluation of new SharePoint based initiatives (upgrades, third-party solutions, integration with additional enterprise systems).
  3. Develops, configures, and maintains document libraries, enterprise lists and site collections. Performs typical system administrative activities such as site creation, user training, backup, restore and issue resolution.
  4. Coordinates with divisions in standardizing and optimizing the way data/information is stored and retrieved.
  5. Maintains current industry knowledge of development concepts, best practices and procedures for SharePoint solutions which includes social networking and activity streams.
  6. Works with city departments to design and develop solutions to address business needs and opportunities. Proposes changes that would make the SharePoint environment a more effective and secure solution.
  7. Examines requirements documents and creates technical design documents, unit tests, system tests and implementation plans for small to complex projects.
  8. Maintains and administers Microsoft SharePoint Portal Server, including daily monitoring, troubleshooting and performance analysis; as well as performs as the SharePoint Subject Matter Expert (SME).
  9. Provides technical guidance to the team in the technologies related to the development and support of an Enterprise SharePoint environment.
  10. Ensures security of all SharePoint sites and related applications.
  11. Participates in the selection of Web application’s hardware, software platforms, developing site navigation, and designing an application framework.

Experience:
Two years of increasingly responsible experience in web development, design and maintenance.

Training:
Equivalent to an Associate's degree from an accredited college or university with major course work in information technology or a related field.

LICENSING & CERTIFICATIONS:

Required:
None.

Preferred:
Microsoft Certifications, MCSD for SharePoint.

Please Note: Candidates selected for a position within the Information Technology Department will be required to successfully complete a Police Department and fingerprint-based background check.

From the time of closing, the selection process is anticipated to last approximately 4 - 6 weeks. The process will consist of a panel interview with the selected candidate being subject to a pre-employment drug screen, background check and driving history check.
