Job Overview

The Factory Engineering Manager oversees all engineering and maintenance operations within the factory, ensuring that employee health and safety, product safety, and environmental protection are upheld without compromise. The Manager is dedicated to driving activities that enhance product quality, optimize plant performance, and align with the business objectives.

Responsibilities

  1. Supervise the implementation of the Factory Engineering teams plan and objectives in accordance with Nestle practices.
  2. Propose and implement work processes, procedures and technical resources related to Factory engineering and maintenance.
  3. Lead the Factory engineering and maintenance and maintain proficiencies, motivation and performance to achieve the team's mission and objectives.
  4. Propose and control the budget as well as the factory's capital investment plans and related capital expenditures.
  5. Supervise our capital investments and request for approval and reporting are in line with the guidelines for Capital Investment.
  6. Ensure that projects are crafted with a high degree of flexibility to better enable the operations to adjust to a changing environment keeping in mind safety and the environment.
  7. Execute M&I in accordance with the Nestle Maintenance Strategy using Consequence Driven Maintenance (CDM) as the multi-disciplined approach to proactively maintain/improve the fixed assets and Asset and Maintenance Management as the process to manage the asset lifecycle.
  8. Ensure the team view M&I as an investment in asset reliability and overall plant performance.
  9. Collaborate closely daily with Production and Quality Assurance to resolve technical issues and to ensure efficient operation.
  10. Ensure that all the team members are familiar with and implement Good Manufacturing Practices (GMP).
  11. Ensure environmental compliance with Nestle Environmental management System, Nestle Operational Safety, Health and Risk Management Strategy.
  12. Ensure execution of maintenance is in accordance with the Nestle Maintenance Strategy by using the Consequence Driven Maintenance philosophy.
  13. Ensure implementation of Asset Maintenance Management as Factory Maintenance Systems including Technical Stores Management, Work Order Management and Labor Hour allocation and Equipment Bill of Material (BOM).
  14. Optimize predictive maintenance technologies to minimize unplanned downtime and utilize planned downtime for scheduled and Condition-Based Maintenance.
  15. Initiate and coordinate the implementation of new processes/technologies with local, market, PTC, CTU and SBU engineering.
  16. Maintain and develop functional expertise in technical operations by providing training and development programs.
  17. Manage resources continuously to align with factory objectives and business strategies, include outsourcing opportunities.

Requirements

  1. B.S. degree in Engineering, preferably Mechanical, Chemical, Process required.
  2. 5-7 years experience in a technical field, preferably in food manufacturing facility including maintenance responsibilities.
  3. Minimum 3-5 years of leadership/management experience required.
  4. Knowledge of food safety, regulatory requirements for food safety and hygienic engineering (OSH&R).

Skills

  1. Understanding of financial analysis and relevant business drivers such as Nestle Standard Costing.
  2. Asset and Maintenance Management.
  3. CAPEX budgeting and preparation.
  4. 1-3 years TPM / continuous improvement process development, preferred.
  5. AutoCAD view or Visio, CDM, AMM, ESAT, CIAT, NEMT, etc.
