Title and Summary

Senior AWS Security Engineer

SessionM, A Mastercard Company, is looking for a Senior Cloud Security Engineer with a focus on AWS Cloud Security to help guide the organization’s information security, data privacy and risk management of its AWS-platformed solution. This role will report into the Director of Information Security and will be a trusted advisor to the engineering teams as we evolve the security posture of our AWS-hosted platform.

About the Role:

  1. Design and/or review designs for cloud security controls and architecture changes
  2. Build and/or consult on proofs of concept
  3. Validate compliance with Mastercard policies and procedures
  4. Collaborate with development and operational teams on process improvements and automation opportunities to gain efficiencies across security domains
  5. Consult with development and operational teams to securely design applications and services following industry best practices
  6. Cultivate and maintain effective working relationships with a variety of internal MasterCard stakeholders, including business owners, end-users, customers, project managers, and engineers
  7. Perform technology evaluations, supporting business case development, test case definition, and vendor selection based on industry standard criteria
  8. Assist in collecting and reviewing evidence for internal and external audits (e.g. SOC 1 & 2)
  9. Respond to security incidents and breaches, and coordinate with internal and external parties to investigate, contain, remediate, and report on them
  10. Stay abreast of current and emerging security threats, trends, technologies, and best practices, and ensure that the organization adapts accordingly via threat modeling

All About You:

  1. Knowledge of security capabilities and constraints related to AWS services, including relevant practical experience
  2. A strong understanding and previous experience in various security domains, such as application security, cloud security, cryptography, identity and access management, network security, incident response, disaster recovery, endpoint security, etc.
  3. Demonstrated technical competency in security engineering based on hands-on experience or relevant qualifications
  4. Understanding of automation tooling, scripting languages, and continuous delivery/continuous integration processes
  5. Demonstrated effectiveness working in a global environment
  6. Ability to communicate effectively (both oral and written) and develop solid working relationships across multiple levels and organization boundaries
  7. Experience identifying and remediating cloud related risks with Cloud Security Posture Management (CSPM) technologies or equivalent solutions
  8. Credentials including but not required: CISSP, CCSP, AWS Solutions Architect, AWS Security Specialty, or equivalent

Location Requirements:

This is a hybrid position based in Mastercard's Boston Tech Hub. This role is not eligible for Mastercard’s work authorization sponsorship. As such, candidates must be eligible to work in the United States, now as well as in the future, without employer sponsorship.

In line with Mastercard’s total compensation philosophy and assuming that the job will be performed in the US, the successful candidate will be offered a competitive base salary based on location, experience and other qualifications for the role and may be eligible for an annual bonus or commissions depending on the role.
