ManTech seeks an experienced, talented engineering expert with proven leadership skills to manage a portfolio of projects under a major program supporting all the Department of Defense. This position begins by working directly with customers to define innovative solutions to their mission problems, then transitions into oversight of execution of a portfolio of these projects, while scouting for opportunities to introduce innovation to ongoing efforts. Initially reporting to the Vice President of Solutions, you will learn how we generate solutions and the internal mechanisms of our solutioning toolbox and our capture process, then transition to an execution leadership role supporting a major program.

This is a hybrid work schedule traveling to: Herndon, VA, Stafford, VA, Frederick, MD, or Hannover, MD


Responsibilities to include but not limited to:

  • Conceptualize solutions across the full spectrum of DoD missions, with a focus on C6ISRT and IT domains.
  • Communicate solutions to our customers and internally to our team. Develop white papers, responses for request for information (RFIs), presentations, and serve as a technical lead or writer on proposals.
  • Analyze RFPs to develop differentiated, compelling solutions compliant to solicitation requirements, federal acquisition process and industry best practices.
  • Assist Capture Managers in developing and communicating differentiated, transformative solutions to customer mission needs.
  • Leverage industry leading systems engineering technologies and industry best practices including Model Based Systems Engineering, Digital Engineering, Automation, Agile Methodologies, and traditional DoD Systems Engineering to adapt solutions.
  • Define and develop systems and enterprise level solutions with creative systems engineering processes and discipline across lifecycle, compliant to industry standards.
  • Evaluate new technology, providing recommendations and solutions integrating said technology.
  • You will be meeting with customers to understand technical requirements, state of current environment, and mission.
  • Analyze customer needs, business and technical requirements to translate into solutions and proposals.
  • Present technical briefings and vet solutions to customer stakeholders.
  • Communicate the role and value of the proposed solution to the customer organization and present the business case for technology implementation and/or managed services investments.
  • Engage with the team.
  • Our culture includes technical Communities of Practice in advanced technology areas to collaborate across the company. Active participation or leading will be expected.
  • Work in conjunction with other Group and Business Unit Solution Architects to create, maintain and publish methodologies, approaches and best practices in support of ManTech key business areas.

Minimum Qualifications:

  • Bachelors degree in Systems Engineering, Information Systems, or related field. 4 additional years of experience may be substituted for a degree.
  • 12 or more years of hands-on Systems Engineering experience and Enterprise Architecture experience.
  • Experience with the end-to-end Software Development Life Cycle (SLDC) and Systems development methodology including agile development and model-based systems engineering.
  • Experience with working through federal acquisition process.
  • Familiarity with DevOps/DevSecOps methodology and tools.
  • Track record in supporting major programs, projects, and transformational efforts.
  • Experience in delivering and managing technology-based systems integration and managed services projects.

Security Clearance Requirements:

  • Must have a current/active Secret clearance (TS/SCI is preferred).

Physical Requirements:

  • Must be able to remain in a stationary position 50%.
  • Needs to occasionally move about inside the office to access file cabinets, office machinery, etc.
  • Constantly operates a computer and other office productivity machinery, such as a calculator, copy machine and computer printer.
  • Frequently communicates with co-workers, management and customers, which may involve delivering presentations.
  • Must be able to exchange accurate information in these situations.
