Job Purpose
To test circuit boards or assembly units for specified functions, locate mechanical and electrical defects and instruct the problems in rework areas. Coordinate with customers to create and design custom electrical/functional performance testing. Must be flexible to support a small company’s goals and may have other duties as assigned by manager.
Duties and Responsibilities
- Review customer test procedure and schematics and select applicable test equipment/s.
- Set-up and debug test station including hardware and software.
- Apply functional test and troubleshooting to the component level. Provide rework instruction to rework area.
- Interface with the customer to solve circuit design and FAB layout problems.
- Work with the customer to create and design custom electrical/functional performance testing for new products.
Must read, write, and understand English, understanding verbal and written instructions. Operate all electronic test equipments. Read and understand test instructions, schematics and wiring diagrams to perform diagnostic routines on all product types. Knowledge of computer language, such as C/C++, Unix.
Additional Knowledge and Related Experience Requirements
- Require Bachelor’s degree in electronic engineering field or equivalent with specific electronic engineering training plus 2 or more years progressively responsible related experience.
- Require Bachelor’s degree or equivalent plus 5 or more years related experience or Master’s degree plus 2 years experience. Creativity in problem solving is expected.
