Overall Purpose

Designs, develops, documents, tests, debugs, and maintains software product applications. Serves as quality engineer on development projects. Perform test strategy, test design, test planning, automation of various test frameworks and tools.

Essential Functions

  • Work closely with the Product and Engineering teams to develop technical and domain expertise and apply it to solve testing challenges across the teams.
  • Research, implement and improve testing tools and processes for our products and teams.
  • Drive standardization and adoption of test automation technologies to maintain consistency across the company that will allow us to scale as we grow:
  • Automation tools and techniques
  • Quality practices and processes including test strategy, test case management, test data management, CI/CD, defect management, release management using agile methodologies
  • Participate in design, code and test case reviews and provide feedback to improve test coverage, as well as quality of our code and tests.
  • Create software test artifacts including test strategy, test plans, test cases, and test summary reports.
  • Work with cross functional engineering teams to ensure e2e integration testing is performed with appropriate test coverage.
  • Analyze and monitor the continued quality of products and finding ways to increase the quality of those products.
  • Closely work on the execution of the EWS test strategy and drive them to close any gaps with respect to the established test strategy.
  • Report bugs and issues to development teams and manage defects through to successful resolution.
  • Continually seek opportunities to improve, optimize and simplify existing testing processes and methodologies.
  • Provide training, mentorship, and support to quality engineering team members, focusing on systems, policies, procedures, and core processes.
  • Support the company’s commitment to risk management and protecting the integrity and confidentiality of systems and data.

Minimum Qualifications

  • Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science, Information Technology, or a related field required.
  • Minimum 10 years’ experience developing software or test automation frameworks using one of the programming languages – Java, Ruby, Node.js or Objective C. Java is preferred.
  • Prior experience with established Software development and monitoring tools (GitLab, GIT, Eclipse/Android Studio/X-Code, Bamboo, Harness, Splunk, AppDynamics)
  • Experience implementing test automation frameworks for API, web or mobile platforms (hybrid, iOS or Android) using any test automation tools– Appium, Selenium, Web driver, Rest-Assured API, and Cucumber.
  • AWS or Cloud experience
  • Kubernetes
  • Background and drug screen

Preferred Qualifications

  • Additional related education and/or experience preferred.
  • Experience in Spock and Groovy
  • Experience with Device Cloud Providers: BrowserStack, Perfecto Mobile, Device Anywhere, Amazon Device Farm.
  • Experience in building and executing automated and performance tests for REST and XML/SOAP/JSON based services.
  • Experience testing system/server level software, networking (sockets) and protocols: HTTP, SIP, Rest Services
  • Knowledge of Performance/Load Testing is a plus.
  • Agile/Lean methodologies experience preferred.
  • Mobile programming (Android or iOS/Swift) experience is a bonus and preferred.

Physical Requirements

Working conditions consist of a normal office environment. Work is primarily sedentary and requires extensive use of a computer and involves sitting for periods of approximately four hours. Work may require occasional standing, walking, kneeling and reaching. Must be able to lift 10 pounds occasionally and/or negligible amount of force frequently. Requires visual acuity and dexterity to view, prepare, and manipulate documents and office equipment including personal computers. Requires the ability to communicate with internal and/or external customers. Employee must be able to perform essential functions and physical requirements of position with or without reasonable accommodation.

The pay scale for this position in CA/NY in USD per year is:

a minimum of $145,000
a maximum of $180,000
