Job Summary & Responsibilities
Onto Innovations is a worldwide leader in the design, development, manufacture and support of defect inspection, advanced packaging lithography, process control metrology, and data analysis systems and software used by semiconductor device manufacturers worldwide.
Lithography Business Unit develops and manufactures steppers for advanced packaging and flat panel display technology, Onto Innovation's latest fleet will meet today's manufacturing challenges head on. Systems are designed to maximize throughput without limited resolution and overlay.
We have a full-time software engineer opportunity available immediately in our Wilmington, MA location. The primary responsibility of this individual will be focused on designing and implementing automation systems, including robotics and factory automations, in lithography tools used in support of semiconductor and flat panel manufacturing. You will have opportunities to work with experienced teams on projects enabling advanced packaging semiconductor manufacturers delivering latest chip solutions in wide applications.
Responsibilities
- Create functional and design spec based on requirements from product managements and customers.
- Work with electrical and mechanical engineers in designing and implementing changes to substrate handling systems.
- Develop software for robotics control and sensors.
- Create automated unit test cases.
- Collaborate with test engineers to create test plans.
- Troubleshoot software issues reported by customers.
- 10 percent travel domestically and internationally.
Qualifications
- BS Computer Science or Electrical Engineering required.
- 5+ years experiences in software development.
- 3+ years experiences in robotics.
- Experiences working with factory automation.
- Knowledge of semiconductor manufacturing and SECS/GEM interface desired.
