ETL Software Engineer - Entry Level

What makes this position exciting:

As a Software Developer/Data Integrator at Boeing Intelligence & Analytics, you will:

  1. Work with a team of developers on data integration requirements.
  2. Write and maintain code using an Extract-Transform-Load (ETL) platform to transform data to suitable formats as defined by IC ITE initiatives.
  3. Interface with external teams and systems to collect data via myriad protocols including HTML and SFTP.
  4. Add features to ETL platform to shorten timelines for future data integration efforts.
  5. Develop and maintain code and integrate software into a fully functional software system.
  6. Work with external teams to validate data ingest.
  7. Provide and maintain documentation of system architecture, development, and enhancements.

Experience and Qualifications:

To be eligible for this demanding position, the ideal candidate should demonstrate the following experience and qualifications:

Required Education and Years of Experience:

  1. Bachelor's degree; or
  2. Associates degree and 2 years of experience; or
  3. 4 years of experience without a degree.

Required Qualifications:

  1. Active TS/SCI clearance with polygraph.
  2. Linux/Unix experience.
  3. Object Oriented programming language experience.
  4. Possess strong verbal and written communication skills.
  5. Possess strong analytical and problem-solving abilities in the face of ambiguity.
  6. Self-starter with a willingness to learn new skills.

Desired Qualifications:

  1. Expertise in data ingestion, data transformation (ETL), and data modeling.
  2. Experience with Ruby, Java, or Python.
  3. Experience with multiple data formats such as JSON, XML, Binary, etc.
  4. One year working with Restful web services.
  5. Experience with ETL Tools such as Apache Nifi, Informatica, DataBricks, etc.
  6. Experience with code development, deployment, versioning.
  7. Working in cloud architecture with AWS EC2, RDS, and/or S3.
  8. Experience with XML data formats, including processing and translation with XSLT and XPath.

Telework/Remote Availability: Hybrid work model approved.

Work Location: National Capitol Region.

Summary Pay Range:

Please note that the information shown below is a general guideline only. Pay is based upon candidate experience and qualifications, as well as market and business considerations.

$80,000 - $94,000
