New Graduate - Software Engineer

Itron’s Global Network Design Center (GNDC) is looking to hire a recent college graduate to join their team. This team is responsible, in part, for developing, maintaining, and reviewing reports, plots and maps for Itron’s Distributed Intelligence product as it is deployed to our customer base around the world. Applicants are expected to have good data analytical skills, database knowledge, as well as programming and scripting knowledge.

Duties & Responsibilities

1. Collaborate as a member of the GNDC team to develop and evaluate reports, plots, and maps related to Distributed Intelligence performance and write Python and Shell scripts.
2. Utilize Itron’s existing database and write advanced SQL queries for ETL process.
3. Collaborate with internal stakeholders for various project requirements and technical discussions.
4. Guide other engineers to develop scripts and applications.
5. Support team with advancing dashboard User Interface (UI).

Required Skills & Experience

1. Related experience or graduated within 24 months from an accredited program with an applicable degree in a related field (Computer Science, Software Engineering, or Computer Engineering preferred). December 2023 graduates encouraged to apply.
2. Proven ability to learn quickly.
3. Basic understanding of programming.
4. Excellent problem solving and reasoning skills.
5. Professional workplace communication skills – written and verbal.
6. Self-starter with high initiative.
7. SQL Server, MySQL, or equivalent Relational Databases.
8. Able to work at least one day a week on site in Liberty Lake, WA.

Preferred Skills & Experience

1. Writing Unix/Bash Shell Scripts and/or Putty.
2. Windows and/or Linux experience.
3. C# and the .Net Framework (Preferred) or Java.
4. JavaScript, Python, Ruby, node.js.
5. Angular.js (Preferred) or other JavaScript UI Framework.
6. PowerShell, Bash.

The successful candidate's starting salary will be determined based on permissible, non-discriminatory factors such as skills and experience. Liberty Lake, WA: The base salary for this position is $44,000 - $89,000.
