We are seeking a highly driven and creative individual to join our team in Concord, NC. In this role you will be a member of the Operational Excellence Team responsible for leading cross-functional problem-solving teams to address key business problems. You will apply appropriate lean manufacturing, six sigma and quality management methodologies towards process improvement, problem solving, process development and quality management. You will serve as a liaison between quality, manufacturing, production, assembly, engineering and purchasing to promote and facilitate the achievement of defined business objectives related to flow, cost, quality and performance.

Process improvements will result in built-in quality, repeatability/reproducibility, reduction in non-conformances, standard work improvements and efficient flow of people, parts and information.

Responsibilities:

  1. Provide day-to-day support for the contract manufacturing division, including troubleshooting for assembly, machining, fabrication, material, tooling, or engineering concerns.
  2. Employ value stream maps to evaluate current state processes and plan/execute future state improvements.
  3. Conduct thorough analysis of existing processes, workflows, and systems to identify areas for improvement.
  4. Use structured problem-solving methodologies to investigate and determine the root cause of operational issues, defects, or inefficiencies. Develop corrective and preventive action plans to address identified issues.
  5. Be accountable for the results and sustainment of improvements made, ensuring the intended objectives are being met and adjusting as necessary.
  6. Quantify cost-savings, and other benefits as feasible, to capture value of improvements.
  7. Develop quality requirements, standard work instructions, inspection plans and procedures for the creation or inspection of manufactured products.
  8. Adapt customer requirements into internal specifications.
  9. Participate in engineering change management and validation to assure manufacturability and built-in quality.
  10. Develop and conduct layered process audits to assure process control, adequacy of procedures, effectiveness of the quality management system, and identify opportunities for improvement.
  11. Research, benchmark, share, introduce and implement best practices throughout the organization.
  12. Foster a culture of continuous improvement through training and coaching of team members on process improvement methodologies, tools, and techniques. Ensure knowledge transfer, and support in execution.
  13. Develop and facilitate collaborative discussion using visual management systems, KPI boards and tools aligned with "Go See" walks with team leads and department leadership.
  14. Lead sustainment of ISO 9001:2015 certification, including our internal audit program.

Knowledge, skills and experience:

  1. 5+ years manufacturing experience preferred, with demonstrated results leading operational improvements.
  2. Automotive Tier I or Tier II experience, a plus.
  3. Experience in implementing or supporting ISO 9001:2015 and other core lean tools (DFMEA, PFMEA, Control Plans, MSA, PPAP, SPC, 8-step problem solving, Kaizen, 5S, Gemba, etc.).
  4. Strong, but diverse, problem-solving skillset.
  5. Demonstrated ability to proactively drive change and continuous improvement through influence, not authority.
  6. Microsoft Power Platform experience, a plus.
  7. Comfortable with a dynamic, fast-paced, highly variable business.
  8. Hands-on mindset, meet people where they are at.
  9. Humble: respectful, receptive, agile, eager to learn.
  10. Transparent: shares critical information, speaks with candor, contributes constructively.
  11. Focused: quick learner, strategically prioritizes work, committed.
  12. Leadership ability: strong communicator, decision-maker, collaborative, influencer.
  13. Problem solver: analytically-minded, challenges existing processes, critical thinker.

Education:
