Position Summary
Industrial Inspection & Analysis is hiring a Quality Engineer to join our lab in Kent, WA. The Quality Engineer oversees all aspects and elements of the quality system to ensure compliance of ISO 17025-2017 and Regulatory/client requirements, leads quality improvement and corrective action initiatives, and provides quality training to ensure understanding for all employees.
Essential Functions

  • Displays technical competency by maintaining quality system documentation and review processes to ensure the quality system is current, groups are properly following it, and that records are accurate.
  • Sets internal audit schedules and oversees the audit process to ensure compliance to standards.
  • Ensures calibrations and calibration system is in compliance.
  • Schedules external Proficiency testing and distributes results. Initiates corrective actions as necessary.
  • Leads corrective action efforts. Schedules corrective action reviews and maintains the corrective action records.
  • Comprehension of Uncertainty Studies.
  • Maintains Continuous Improvement Initiatives for the organization. Initiates communications and encourages all departments in the continuous improvement effort.
  • Ensures information systems are accurately maintained. Completes accurate records (on paper and electronic data). Also completes accurate records for continuous improvement. These records include calibration reports, training records, continuous improvement initiatives, and corrective action reports. Understands the function and purpose of these records.
  • Manage the approved supplier list ensuring an accurate list as well as accreditation status of the suppliers.
  • Assist with the scope of accreditation and the associated uncertainties as needed.
  • Ensures work areas are clean and orderly. Sets a high standard for orderliness.
Other Responsibilities
  • Helps to define advanced training needs and provides training relative to Quality system, and technical competencies
  • Performs all other work-related duties as assigned.
Education, Experience, and Competencies Required
  • Minimum of 3-5 years of experience in a quality role.
  • High School diploma or equivalent.
  • Professional attitude, appearance, and organization of work area.
  • Demonstrates outstanding character in the workplace
  • Has developed advanced written and oral communication skills. Demonstrates good interpersonal skills in building effective working relationships with customers and co-workers.
  • Demonstrates the ability to manage time effectively, prioritize work, analyze and solve problems, and complete paperwork accurately.
  • Experience working independently under pressure, performing multiple tasks, with multiple deadlines.
Desired Experience and Competencies
  • 2-4 years of experience in manufacturing of a variety of mechanical components in a quality or manufacturing role. Mechanical inspection experience a plus.
  • ISO 9000 knowledge and/or experience
  • Compilation of Uncertainty Studies a plus.
