Job Requirements / Description
- Build secure, scalable and highly available data pipelines to ingest data into LexisNexis search index. Design, implement and deploy micro services by following the industry practices in coding, unit testing, integration testing, deploy and validation of applications to achieve cloud and technology agnostic solutions. Collaborate within the development team to understand the product requirements, finalize, and translate them into software components of moderate to high complexity. Implement development processes, coding best practices, and code reviews while collaborating with key stakeholders. Perform mentoring and other duties as necessary.
REQUIREMENTS:
- Bachelor’s degree or foreign equivalent in Computer Science, Computer Engineering, Information Systems, or a related field required.
- 5 years of experience in job offered or related occupations required.
- Also required is: 2 years of experience writing complex SQL queries and stored procedures based on the given requirements including DB2 Joins and Sub Queries; conducting performance tuning of queries by analyzing the explain plans, recreating the user driver tables by right primary index, and scheduling collection of statistics for secondary or various join indexes; utilizing SQL (DB2) and No-SQL (Cassandra) databases; implementing various data structures; utilizing Java, Python, Scala, SQL and software development; developing and maintaining ETL pipelines in Hive, Spark, Hadoop and Kafka; implementing ETL jobs using Shell and Hive Scripts to perform data transformation such as data de-duplication and curation, and load report to No-SQL; implementing a streaming application using Spark jobs, and processing them using Spark SQL and written UDF to perform data transformation.
- Employee reports to LexisNexis USA office in Raleigh, NC but may telecommute from any location within the U.S.
- Experience can be concurrent.
