The selected Principal Mission Assurance Engineer will support the NATO program, a customer under the RQ-4 enterprise, and falls under the Autonomous Intelligence, Surveillance, Reconnaissance, and Targeting Business Unit. The position is in San Diego (Rancho Bernardo), CA.

The Mission Assurance engineer will collaborate with engineering, manufacturing, and program management to ensure overall Mission Assurance of the program.

Roles and Responsibilities:

  • Defines and monitors mission assurance program specifications and processes to ensure mission success of programs.
  • Performs or assures quality, risk management, safety, reliability, and maintainability of program achievements, subcontractors, and suppliers in accordance with contractual requirements.
  • Assesses program performance and risks and determines resources to ensure mission assurance.

Basic Qualifications:

  • Must have a Bachelor’s Degree in STEM AND 5 years of related professional/military experience in aircraft, aerospace, or manufacturing industries, OR a Master’s degree in STEM AND 3 years of related experience along with lead/leadership experience.
  • Must be willing to go on short-term travel.
  • Must have an active DoD Secret clearance (or higher) or be able to obtain it within 6 months.
  • Must be able to stand and/or sit for extended periods.

Preferred Qualifications:

  • Experience in utilizing Agile methodology.
  • Strong orientation to change in a dynamic and logistically challenging environment.
  • Understanding of quality policies, procedures, and governmental regulations.
  • Ability to analyze alternative courses of action where decisions have risk/reward implications.
  • Proficiency in root cause and corrective action processes.
  • Experience with EVMS, Earned Value Management System.
  • Demonstrated ability to communicate effectively, globally, and to all levels of any organization.

Salary Range: $107,300 - $160,900

The above salary range represents a general guideline; however, Northrop Grumman considers a number of factors when determining base salary offers such as the scope and responsibilities of the position and the candidate's experience, education, skills, and current market conditions.

Employees may be eligible for a discretionary bonus in addition to base pay. Annual bonuses are designed to reward individual contributions as well as allow employees to share in company results.
