Network Design Engineer

Description:
***All candidates must have a current Active Secret Clearance to be considered for this position.***
This individual will be able to sit 100% remote.
The Navy has selected Aruba as the wireless device that they want to go with. Leidos does not have anyone on their team with this experience, so they are looking to us to identify this consultant. We have the exclusive on this position.

JOB DUTIES:

1. The Network Engineer will obtain requirements from the Leidos Network Architect and translate them into network (router and switch) configurations.
2. The engineer will put together a test plan for the configuration they designed.
3. The engineer will verify that the solution they design will meet all of the requirements outlined by the architect.
4. The engineer will need to collaborate with other groups within Leidos (for instance, the Information Assurance and network security teams) to ensure the solution meets security standards.
5. The engineer will be responsible for extensive documentation along the path to getting the solution approved, which can often be very tedious and complicated due to red tape and documentation required by the Navy customer.
6. For example, one of the projects involves taking the VPN functionality on Juniper and moving it to a Cisco VPN solution (aka GetVPN).

Design, Network engineering, Network design, Router, Firewall, CCNP, WAN, BGP, OSPF, EIGRP, Aruba, Aruba wireless, Aruba Networks Airwave, Cisco switches, Palo Alto, Troubleshooting, Juniper.

Additional Skills & Qualifications:

1. Security+ CE.
2. Highly preferred to have an Aruba Certification.
3. Must have experience with Wireless Networks, specifically Aruba Devices.
4. Minimum Interim Secret clearance; highly preferred to have a fully adjudicated clearance or to consider a consultant that previously had a clearance.
5. Strong Cisco router and switch engineering and configuration experience (equivalent to CCNP level).
6. Strong understanding of OSI layers II and III.
7. Strong understanding of Transport Boundary System design and System interfaces.
8. Expertise with routing protocols OSPF, BGP, EIGRP IPv4/IPv6, etc.
9. Strong understanding of VPN.
10. Experience with Operations-oriented engineering & implementation strategies (i.e., production systems will need to be functional in a transition-state for an extended period).
11. Experience with Test Plan/Procedure documentation.
12. Experience with WAN edge design/engineering.
13. Experience with logical/virtual network segmentation techniques.
14. Experience with dynamic tunneling (e.g., Multi-point GRE) - nice to have.
15. Intermediate understanding of MPLS - nice to have.
16. Experience with DISA NETWORK/IA STIGS - nice to have.
17. Familiarity with DODAF SE methodology and documentation requirements - nice to have.

PREFERRED:

1. Experience working on GOVERNMENT networks.
2. DISA NETWORK/IA STIGS.
3. RMF.
4. Understanding of JIE constructs - Base Node.
5. DODAF SE methodology and documentation requirements.
