Splunk Engineer

Job Description

We are seeking a highly skilled Splunk Engineer to join our team and play a critical role in designing, implementing, and maintaining our Splunk infrastructure. As a Splunk Engineer, you will be responsible for ensuring the scalability, performance, and optimization of our Splunk systems, while collaborating with cross-functional teams to drive data-driven insights across the organization.

Responsibilities:

1. Design and Implementation: Architect, deploy, and maintain Splunk infrastructure to ensure scalability, performance, and reliability across all environments.
2. Customization: Develop custom Splunk applications, dashboards, reports, and alerts tailored to meet the specific needs of various teams and departments.
3. Monitoring and Analysis: Continuously monitor system performance, logs, and security events. Proactively identify and resolve any issues to maintain optimal system health and security.
4. Integration: Work closely with IT, Security, and Development teams to integrate Splunk with various systems and applications, enhancing data visibility and real-time analytics.
5. Optimization: Identify and implement improvements in the efficiency and effectiveness of Splunk configurations, workflows, and processes.
6. Troubleshooting: Diagnose and resolve issues related to Splunk performance, data ingestion, and availability, ensuring system uptime and reliability.

Job Requirements:

1. Must be suitable for Federal employment, determined by background investigation, which requires residency requirements.
2. Bachelor's degree in Computer Science, Information Technology, or a related field, or equivalent work experience.
3. Strong expertise in architecting and maintaining Splunk environments.
4. Splunk certification (Splunk Enterprise Certified Admin, Architect, or higher).
5. Experience working with IT, Security, and Development teams in a collaborative environment.
