We are looking for a motivated and experienced Water Resources Engineer to join our team and help us achieve this vision.


Job Description:

As a Part-Time, Contract Water Resources Engineer, you will play a critical role in supporting and expanding our water resources practice. You will be responsible for contributing to projects related to stormwater management, flood control, stream restoration, water quality, and mitigation banking while working closely with our multidisciplinary expertise in landscape architecture, stream ecology and wetland science. Remote work within 3 hours of the Twin Cities may be possible.


Key Responsibilities:

  • Design and assist in the implementation of stormwater management systems, stream and wetland restorations, and water quality improvement projects.
  • Conduct hydrologic and hydraulic modeling to support project design and regulatory compliance.
  • Conduct 100-year floodplain analysis to support project design and regulatory compliance.
  • Prepare technical reports, design plans, and specifications for water resources projects.
  • Assist clients with obtaining necessary permits and ensuring compliance with relevant regulations.
  • Collaborate with other engineers, environmental scientists, and planners on multidisciplinary projects.
  • Contribute to business development efforts by preparing proposals and supporting client relationships.
  • Stay current with advancements in water resources engineering, regulatory changes, and best practices.
  • Oversee construction of designed projects.


Qualifications:

  • Bachelor’s degree (Master’s preferred) in Civil Engineering, Environmental Engineering, or a related field.
  • Minimum of 5-7 years of experience in water resources engineering, including stormwater management, flood control, and water quality projects.
  • Proficiency in hydrologic and hydraulic modeling software (e.g., HEC-RAS, SWMM, HEC-HMS).
  • Proficiency in ESRI ArcGIS Pro software.
  • Proficiency in AutoCAD Civil 3D software.
  • Certified Floodplain Manager
  • Strong technical writing skills and experience preparing detailed reports and design documents.
  • Excellent communication and interpersonal skills.
  • Ability to work independently and manage multiple tasks within a flexible schedule.
  • Professional Engineer (PE) license or the ability to obtain licensure is required.
  • Willingness to travel to project sites as needed.
