Kimberley Harrison Interiors , a full-service interior design firm ( located in downtown Lafayette with projects spanning the entire bay area. We are seeking a mature, professional, organized, and self-motivated Junior Designer who has 2-3 years minimum of residential design experience. The KHI culture is collaborative, dynamic and creative. Candidate must be good at managing many tasks, highly organized, energetic, eager to learn, cheerful, and also comfortable in a fast-paced environment. The Junior Designer will contribute to the success of the firm by assisting with all aspects of design development, sourcing, meeting preparation and technical drawings, maintaining organized binders and sample library. The Jr. Designer must be able to take direction and feedback from other members of the design team. Must be adaptable and able to successfully function with lots of balls in the air. Requirements:
- Degree in interior design or interior architecture from a US accredited school
- MIN 2-3 years of residential design experience
- Proficient in AutoCad – ability to develop floor plans and elevations with detailed accuracy
- Proficient in Adobe Photoshop, Illustrator or InDesign a plus
- Proficient in Excel, Word, Powerpoint and Outlook
- Proficiency in SketchUP
- Must have strong verbal & written communication skills when responding to clients, vendors and all internal team members
- Experience sourcing all finishes, both hard and soft including electrical, window coverings, accessories, etc.
- Knowledge of SFDC and other trade vendors for savvy sourcing
- Excellent attention to detail and highly organized
- Ability to manage many tasks; meet deadlines and is EAGER to learn and grow with firm
- Must be able to work independently and as part of a team
- Must have valid driver’s license and insurance with reliable vehicle
- Must have a positive, friendly, professional attitude and a good sense of humor

- Willing to work in studio - this is not a remote position and is a 40 hour a week role
Responsibilities:
- Work with Principal and design team to assist with executing projects through the design process based on Principals vision and clients aesthetic and budget
- Prepare for client presentations by creating mood boards, floorplans, drawings, elevations and presentations that convey the design intent
- Sourcing at the SF Design Center and from online trade partners; obtain pricing and reserves
- Assist with quotes, proposals, budgets, and FF&Es
- Follow up with vendors on lead times and quotes
- Organize and manage samples library, client project trays and bins
- Research new products and materials
- Document and organize meeting notes, project status, deliverables, etc. in all KHI systems
- Maintain organized client binders and accurate FF&Es
- Read architectural plans and produce scaled drawings and room layouts with accuracy
- Conduct site measures, accurately capturing all details for as-builts and floor plans
- Contribute to the firm in a manner that continues to elevate our relationships, work and style
