Position Summary
As a Senior Software Engineer, you'll spend your days translating requirements into solutions, writing code, collaborating with cross-functional teams, and providing insights necessary to think beyond the status quo.
You'll be part of, and lead small project teams consisting of other engineers who will look to you as a trusted advisor and a subject matter expert who provides guidance and the right tools to get the job done.

At Sam's Club, we are developing the next generation of capabilities in the e-commerce space by leveraging modern cloud-based infrastructure to support our e-commerce business. You will be a key member of the Fusion Assortment team, bringing those capabilities to life for our members.
What you'll do:
- Design and deliver code that's readable, maintainable, testable, scalable, reusable, and efficient.
- Work in an Agile team with engineers, designers, and product managers to solve problems.
- Think from the customer's perspective to recommend design improvements.
- Collaborate with backend teams to design effective and understandable APIs.
- Follow established architecture patterns and suggest improvements.
- Implement new features according to specifications.
- Participate in code reviews for yourself and others.
- Investigate and fix bugs.
- Build unit and UI tests.
- Learn and implement the latest technologies.
- Mentor fellow engineers.
What you'll bring:
- Bachelor's degree in Computer Science/Engineering or equivalent experience.
- 5+ years of experience as a software engineer.
- Experience with caching, logging, performance tuning, and monitoring.
- Solid understanding of the software development lifecycle.
- Experience using GitHub.
- Knowledge of unit testing best practices and patterns.
- Familiarity with CI/CD systems such as TeamCity or Jenkins.
- Comfortable working in a distributed team and communicating asynchronously.
- Ability to communicate in spoken and written English.
Minimum Qualifications
Outlined below are the required minimum qualifications for this position:
- Option 1: Bachelor's degree in computer science, computer engineering, computer information systems, software engineering, or related area and 3 years' experience in software engineering or related area.
- Option 2: 5 years' experience in software engineering or related area.
Preferred Qualifications
Master's degree in Computer Science, Computer Engineering, Computer Information Systems, Software Engineering, or related area and 1 year's experience in software engineering or related area. We value candidates with a background in creating inclusive digital experiences, demonstrating knowledge in implementing Web Content Accessibility Guidelines (WCAG) 2.2 AA standards, assistive technologies, and integrating digital accessibility seamlessly.

The annual salary range for this position is $90,000.00-$180,000.00. Additional compensation includes annual or quarterly performance bonuses.
