Job Summary

The Benjamin Moore Quality team located in our Flanders NJ facility is seeking a Quality Engineer to support our paint manufacturing processes. The desired individual will work with the team to evaluate processes, analyze data, and perform laboratory testing to ensure our products meet specifications. The individual will help validate new test methods, analyze complaint samples, assist in auditing against established quality standards, and collaborate regularly with our research and development teams as well as our production facilities located throughout the United States.

Key Responsibilities

  • Collaborates with cross-functional teams on corporate and plant quality improvement projects
  • Documents and revises quality system and manufacturing processes, procedures, standard work instructions and test methods
  • Assists, trains and helps develop quality and plant personnel to conduct quality test methods
  • Participates and/or leads internal Benjamin Moore Quality Audits
  • Performs routine quality control testing on paint and colorant formulations
  • Assists with validation testing of packaging components
  • Assists Product Development with scale-up batches at Benjamin Moore and toller plants
  • Performs investigatory testing on customer complaints
  • Creates complaint reports at defined intervals
  • Performs Trend Analysis on customer complaints
  • Coordinates purchase requisitions for laboratory test equipment and supplies
  • Coordinates, schedules and oversees activities associated with the Corporate Base Standards Filling Equipment
  • Performs gage R&R studies
  • Performs test equipment verifications/calibrations and records results based on verification matrix
  • Ensures processes and procedures adhere to quality standards
  • Prepares reports by collecting, analyzing and summarizing data
  • Other quality related functions as assigned

Skills/Qualifications

  • Associates degree in a science related field (biology, chemistry, engineering)
  • 1-3 years' experience working in Quality role or laboratory department and/or completed a technical-based Quality internship
  • Knowledge of good laboratory practices and/or Quality systems
  • Team oriented and willingness to work cross-functionally
  • Strong project management and time management skills
  • Excellent interpersonal communication and presentation skills
  • Hold self accountable for project deliverables and commitments
  • Strong knowledge of Microsoft Office, Minitab or comparable statistical software programs or tools
  • Willingness to travel 10% of the time
