We're looking for innovative Machine Learning Engineers to join our TikTok Ads Core-Ranking team. Ads Core is a mid-platform team that develops state-of-art ad technologies, including ranking, targeting, bidding, auction, etc. You will be part of the Ranking team that is optimizing ads format and ranking model & strategies, including recall & rough-sort, fine-sort, format personalization and system framework, and you will be directly responsible for bringing a more advanced advertising delivery system and better return on investment for advertisers.

What You'll Do:

  1. Own key ranking & format components or strategies in the TikTok ads monetization ecosystem.
  2. Research & develop state-of-the-art model and strategy to increase overall TikTok ads revenue.
  3. Design & set up system framework and standard to continuously improve overall efficiency and meet different vertical business needs.
  4. Work with product and business teams on the product vision.

Qualifications

Minimum Qualifications:
  1. BS/MS degree in Computer Science, Statistics, Operation Research, Applied Mathematics, Physics or similar quantitative fields, with 5+ years of related experience.
  2. Hands-on experience in one or more of the following areas: machine learning, deep learning, statistical models and applied mathematical methods.
  3. Solid programming skills, proficient in C/C++ and Python. Familiar with basic data structure and algorithms. Familiar with Linux development environment.
  4. Familiarity with online experimentation and analytics.
  5. Familiarity with big data systems including Hadoop and Spark.
  6. Familiar with architecture and implementation of at least one mainstream machine learning programming framework (TensorFlow/Pytorch/MXNet).
  7. Curiosity towards new technologies and entrepreneurship.

Preferred Qualifications:
  1. Experience in reinforcement learning, transfer learning, and counter-factual optimization is a plus.
  2. Understanding of the business value of online advertising.
  3. Experience in LLM is a plus.
  4. Paper publication in NLP/CV/recommendation system (RecSys/KDD/NIPs... etc).

Job Information:

Compensation Description (annually)

The base salary range for this position in the selected city is $194000 - $355000 annually.

Compensation may vary outside of this range depending on a number of factors, including a candidate’s qualifications, skills, competencies and experience, and location. Base pay is one part of the Total Package that is provided to compensate and recognize employees for their work, and this role may be eligible for additional discretionary bonuses/incentives, and restricted stock units.
