Overview
Office 365 System Engineer Objective
To assist Farm Bureau family of companies with Office 365 for organizational and department-level communication and tools for day-to-day activities. To help more fully utilize the offerings of the product in a stable and secure fashion. To work closely with business and end-user support teams, responding to questions, assisting with training, and communicating application updates.
Responsibilities
Office 365 System Engineer Responsibilities
Manage and maintain the Office 365 tenant, including Exchange Online, SharePoint Online, Teams, OneDrive for Business, Microsoft Entra ID, and other O365 services.
Perform regular service reviews, configuration, and optimization to ensure the platform’s stability and security.
Manage document retention standards according to policy.
Monitor system performance and troubleshoot issues to ensure seamless operation of the Office 365 environment.
Provide tier 2/3 support for Office 365-related issues and incidents.
Conduct training sessions and create documentation to help users effectively utilize Office 365 tools and services, collaborating with tier 1 support and training teams.
Implement and manage security policies and configurations to protect the Office 365 environment.
Ensure compliance with organizational policies, industry standards, and regulatory requirements.
Perform regular security assessments and audits to identify and mitigate risks.
Plan and execute migrations to Office 365 from on-premises or other cloud platforms.
Integrate Office 365 with other enterprise applications and systems as needed.
Qualifications
Office 365 System Engineer Qualifications
Required
Bachelor's degree in computer science, Information Technology, or a related field.
Minimum of 3-5 years of experience managing and supporting Microsoft Office 365 environments.
Strong knowledge of Office 365 services, including Exchange Online, SharePoint Online, Teams, OneDrive, and related applications.
Experience with PowerShell scripting for administration and automation tasks.
Understanding of networking concepts, security principles, and compliance requirements related to Office 365.
Preferred
Microsoft Certified: Azure Administrator Associate or equivalent certification preferred.
Microsoft 365 Certified: Endpoint Administrator Associate or equivalent certification preferred.
Microsoft Certified: Identity and Access Administrator Associate or equivalent certification preferred.
Security certification, such as Security+, is preferred.
Experience with hybrid Office 365/on-premises environments preferred.
Familiarity with Microsoft Entra ID, Azure Conditional Access and other Azure services, preferred.
Knowledge of ITIL practices and methodologies preferred.
Experience with third-party Office 365 tools and add-ons preferred.
Note: This is a hybrid position working both remotely and from the Farm Bureau Home Office located in Lansing, Michigan.
