We are committed to fostering an environment of creativity and collaboration, where interns can gain hands-on experience and contribute to cutting-edge projects.

Position Overview

We are seeking a motivated Hardware Engineer, who will play a critical role in the design, development, and testing of cutting-edge hardware solutions. You will be responsible for leading the PCB design and manufacturing of evaluation boards, bringing up and testing custom chip designs, developing firmware, and representing the company at trade shows and expos. This role requires a blend of technical expertise, project management skills, and the ability to effectively communicate and demonstrate our hardware products to customers and industry professionals.

Key Responsibilities

PCB Design & Manufacturing

  • Lead the design, layout, and manufacturing processes for printed circuit boards (PCBs) used in evaluation boards and other hardware prototypes.
  • Collaborate with cross-functional teams, including electrical, mechanical, and software engineers, to ensure seamless integration of PCB designs.
  • Work closely with manufacturing partners to oversee the production process, ensuring high-quality output and adherence to project timelines.

Custom Chip Design Bring-Up & Testing:

  • Lead the bring-up and validation of custom chip designs, including initial power-up, debugging, and performance testing.
  • Develop and execute comprehensive test plans to verify the functionality and reliability of hardware components.
  • Work with design and verification teams to identify and resolve issues in silicon, firmware, and hardware designs.

Firmware Development:

  • Develop, test, and maintain firmware for hardware components, with a focus on communication protocols such as I2C and SPI.
  • Utilize Python and other relevant programming languages to create and optimize firmware that interfaces with custom hardware.
  • Collaborate with the hardware and software teams to ensure that the firmware meets the design specifications and functional requirements.
  • Debug and resolve issues related to firmware performance and hardware interactions.

Hardware Demonstration & Customer Interaction:

  • Develop and refine demonstration setups to effectively showcase the capabilities and advantages of our hardware products.
  • Interact with customers to understand their needs, answer technical questions, and provide solutions using our hardware.
  • Collaborate with the sales and marketing teams to align technical demonstrations with business objectives and customer requirements.
  • Attend industry trade shows, conferences, and expos to represent the company and showcase our hardware solutions.

Documentation & Reporting:

  • Create detailed documentation for PCB designs, testing procedures, firmware development, and demonstration setups.
  • Report on project progress, challenges, and outcomes to stakeholders and management.
  • Maintain up-to-date records of hardware iterations, testing results, firmware versions, and customer feedback.

Qualifications

  • Bachelor’s or Master’s degree in Electrical Engineering, Computer Engineering, or a closely related field.
  • Demonstrated experience in PCB design and manufacturing, with a deep understanding of circuit design principles, signal integrity, and production processes.
  • Proficient in custom chip bring-up, validation, and debugging, with hands-on experience using various hardware testing tools.
  • Extensive experience in firmware development, particularly with Python, focusing on I2C and SPI communication protocols.
  • Preferably familiar with optical test equipment and its applications in hardware testing.
  • Excellent communication skills, with the ability to clearly convey complex technical concepts to a range of audiences.
  • Willingness and ability to travel to industry events, trade shows, and customer locations as required.
  •  Practical experience with hardware design software (e.g., Altium, Cadence), firmware development environments, and lab equipment (e.g., oscilloscopes, logic analyzers).
