The Role / Responsibilities:
The Senior Network Engineer will be responsible for designing, implementing, and maintaining scalable and reliable network infrastructure solutions, automating processes, and collaborating with development teams. This position plays a critical role in enhancing the efficiency and effectiveness of our software development lifecycle and ensuring the highest level of service quality for clients & stakeholders.
- Deploy firewalls from start to finish.
- Deploy WAF solutions (Cloudflare).
- Design cross cloud network solutions.
- Create and maintain network documentation, network maps, and network processes.
- Conduct network security and vulnerability assessments.
- Perform network maintenance and system upgrades including firmware updates, patches, and security configurations.
- Provide level 1, 2, and 3 support to troubleshoot and resolve networking issues.
- Troubleshoot and resolve infrastructure-related issues, working closely with cross-functional teams to identify root causes and implement effective solutions.
- Liaise with vendors, security team, and other personnel for problem resolution.
- Define and implement strategies to ensure scalability, availability, and security.
- Create automation and processes required to deploy, manage, configure and scale internal products.
- Coordinate with development teams to facilitate experimentation along with functional and load-testing of applications.
- Participate in high-level team activities such as suggesting architecture improvements, recommending process improvements, conducting tool evaluations, and researching new technologies to stay current with industry trends and advancements in DevOps.
- Assist in the coordination of activities of less experienced DevOps team members.
- Manage and support infrastructure and development applications including continuous integration, source code management, and hosted applications to ensure optimal performance, availability, and security.
Qualifications:
Experience (5 years) in at least half of the following areas:
- Public Cloud hands-on working experience in one of Amazon AWS, Microsoft Azure, Google (with a focus on networking in cloud).
- Understanding of VPN (SSL, ipsec), NATing, Double NATing.
- Solid DNS knowledge.
- Working Linux experience.
- Scripting experience in Powershell, Python, and Terraform.
- Working knowledge of Continuous Integration and Deployment applications (Azure DevOps).
- Source code management tools (Git).
- Experience working with SW Engineers and technical product managers.
- BS in Computer Science (or equivalent).
- Cloudflare, nginx, netflow, snmp, bgp, osfp, ecmp Palo Alto, and Panorama experience is a plus.
- Ability to work under pressure to meet tight deadlines.
- Willingness to learn, a can-do attitude, and motivation to succeed and grow.
For US-based roles only: the anticipated hiring base salary range for this position is $135,800.00 - $196,850.00, depending on factors such as experience, education, level, skills, and location. This range is based on a full-time position. In addition to base salary, this role may be eligible for a completion bonus. Moody’s also offers insurance and a discounted employee stock purchase plan for limited duration employees.
