Site Reliability Engineer I

This remote position is responsible for ensuring the availability, performance, and reliability of critical applications for First Citizens Bank.

• Own and maintain the availability, performance, and reliability of customer-facing systems
• Develop software in an Enterprise Java Environment utilizing Spring Boot and Python for CICD pipelines
• Monitor, support, and troubleshoot critical, large-scale application and infrastructure deployments
• Analyze and troubleshoot application, operating system, networking, configuration, and performance problems
• Execute system deployments in AWS, private cloud, and OpenShift
• Automate system administrative tasks using scripting tools such as Python or shell
• Champion SRE best practices and communicate effectively with technical and non-technical staff
• Implement system hardening and security best practices

Minimum Qualifications: Bachelor's Degree and 2 years of experience in Application Engineering, or High School Diploma or GED and 6 years of experience in Application Engineering.

Preferred Qualifications: 4+ years of experience in Software Engineering, 2+ years of experience implementing/following SRE practices, and experience working in a large financial institution or similar environment in scope and complexity.
