DescriptionThe Workplace Health and Safety (WHS) organization is seeking a Electric Vehicle (EV) Safety Engineer. In this role, you will be responsible for partnering with Amazon Worldwide Design Engineering teams to ensure new equipment and modifications to existing EV infrastructure equipment, installed on Amazon campuses comply with all applicable codes, regulations and harmonized standards. You will also partner with various engineering, design and operations teams including, Operations Engineering, Global Hydrogen Economy, Fire Life Safety, Solar Infrastructure, Reliability and Maintenance Engineering, Business Operations Leaders, Field WHS teams, and other key stakeholders. In addition, you will be required to lead process hazard analyses (PHAs), assist in the development and review of equipment designs and provide guidance on requirements on controls and devices.This role requires an effective communicator and someone to send clear, concise and consistent messages, both verbally and in writing and possess excellent program management skills. This role requires knowledge in control systems, environmental and ergonomic design principles. This role required an applied understanding of regional and international regulations, codes and standards. Our mission is to provide the necessary support so Amazon can achieve the 2040 Climate Pledge responsibly and in a manner that safeguards the safety of our associates and the community at large.Program Strategy: the team focus is on building a safety program that reduces the HHC risks at Amazon to as low as reasonably possible. The base pay for this position ranges from $104,100/year in our lowest geographic market up to $185,000/year in our highest geographic market.
