WHO WE ARE

The Application Security Engineer links the Information Security divisional programs and processes to multiple architectural models or views that show how the current security needs of the organization will be met in an efficient, sustainable, agile, and adaptable manner. Various analysis disciplines are required within this role including, but not limited to, business, data, technology, application, and services.

WHAT YOUR ROLE ENTAILS AND HOW YOU'LL CONTRIBUTE

As an Application Security Engineer , you'll be responsible for the following:

  1. Providing input into architecture security policies, standards and procedures
  2. Partnering with service delivery teams to create the application, data and technology designs from a security perspective for new services
  3. Partnering with development to apply secure CI/CD guardrails to current and future development activities
  4. Helping develop an automated reporting system
  5. Applying security architectures and framework to his/her scope
  6. Aligning security process requirements with process portfolios, external research, and strategy development
  7. Delivering architectural requirements and compliance that is practical, achievable, and meets regulatory, business, and divisional objectives

BASIC QUALIFICATIONS

  1. Bachelor's degree or 4 years of professional work experience
  2. At least 3 years of development experience in Java, C#, C/C++, or PHP
  3. At least 1 year of information security experience
  4. Experience with network protocols (TCP/IP, HTML, etc.)

PREFERRED QUALIFICATIONS

  1. BS in Computer Science or a related field
  2. Industry certifications - CISSP, GISP, GSEC, GWAPT, etc.
  3. At least 5 years of development experience in multiple languages (C/C++, Java, C#, PHP)
  4. At least 3 years of information security experience
  5. Ability to work with developers to help them create secure applications without unnecessarily slowing the development process
  6. Good communication skills

  1. This position is hybrid, working at least 1 day per week at our headquarters in Kansas City, MO.
