Engineering Technician

Do you have prior experience in a quality inspector/manufacturing-type role? Advantage Resourcing, in partnership with our client specializing in packaging solutions, is hiring an experienced Engineering Technician in Slatersville, RI. This position offers an exciting opportunity to play a critical role in supporting our client's Engineering Department qualification of new or improved products while providing dimensional inspections and functional testing. Pay: $20 per hour

1st Shift Hours: 8 AM - 4:30 PM, Monday-Friday

Essential Functions:

• Performs all dimensional and visual inspections on the new and old products to ensure conformance to specifications and accuracy.
• Utilizes measuring instruments such as calipers, drop indicators, depth gauges, and optical comparators.
• Documents results on spreadsheets.
• Manufactures samples as needed and may be required to operate an injection molding machine or assembly machine.
• Performs statistical analyses and generates reports based on findings to include recommendations.
• Supports the material review board and quality department with root cause analyses of defective products to assist in our continuous improvement efforts.
• Evaluate and improve inspection/test procedures as needed and assist in training employees on new test procedures as required.

Requirements:

• 1+ years of related work experience.
• Ability to utilize small hand tools and read blueprints.
• Experience with a variety of measuring equipment.
• An understanding of basic statistics.
• Basic report writing and computer skills (including word processing and spreadsheets).
