Job Summary:
Avenu Insights & Analytics is seeking a Cloud Engineer to lead the design, implementation, and integration of complex enterprise cloud solutions. The ideal candidate will possess deep expertise in cloud architecture, middleware solutions, and enterprise IT systems. This role will ensure optimal performance, security, and cost-efficiency across various cloud platforms, including ERP, EAM, HCM, and CIS providers. The Cloud Engineer will collaborate with cross-functional teams to drive innovation, support infrastructure migrations, and maintain robust security and compliance standards.
Duties and Responsibilities:
Key Responsibilities:
  • Lead the architecture and integration of multiple complex enterprise cloud solutions, considering performance, availability, security, and cost optimization.
  • Lead the selection and implementation of middleware cloud management solutions.
  • Analyze the technology environment, document requirements, establish a collaborative framework, design solution prototypes, and participate in the selection of solutions.
  • Oversee the deployment, configuration, and maintenance of cloud infrastructure, including virtual machines, networking, storage, and security measures.
  • Implement and maintain robust security controls, identity and access management, and compliance standards across cloud environments in collaboration with cybersecurity staff.
  • Monitor and optimize cloud resources to ensure efficient utilization, cost-effectiveness, and optimal performance.
  • Conduct continuous system health checks, assist with incident resolution, and perform root cause analysis.
  • Ensure business continuity through thorough backup and restore procedures and conduct periodic testing of outage scenarios.
  • Interact and collaborate professionally with colleagues at all levels.
  • Support infrastructure migrations to cloud environments and identify on-premises technologies and their cloud counterparts.
  • Coordinate integration testing as part of release management across multiple cloud platforms.
  • Perform other duties as assigned.
Education and Experience:
Minimum Qualifications:
  • Bachelor's degree in Computer Science, Engineering, or related field, or equivalent experience.
  • 5+ years of work experience designing, executing, and supporting IT cloud solutions.
  • At least one of the following certifications:
    • AWS Certified Solutions Architect
    • GCP Professional Cloud Architect Certification
    • Azure Solutions Architect Expert
    • OCM Oracle Certified Master
    • Equivalent Certification
Preferred Qualifications:
  • Master's degree in a related field.
  • Experience with hybrid cloud environments.
  • Familiarity with microservices architecture and containerization technologies such as Docker and Kubernetes.
  • Advanced knowledge of networking principles and cloud networking services.
  • Experience with cloud cost management and optimization tools.
Knowledge, Skills and Abilities:
  • At least 5 years of progressive experience administering, designing, and engineering cloud solutions.
  • Sound fundamental knowledge of cloud technology and enterprise IT systems.
  • Proven track record of implementing and configuring cloud middleware.
  • Strong problem-solving and troubleshooting skills.
  • Experience deploying infrastructure as code using AWS CloudFormation templates, Azure ARM templates, Chef, Terraform, or other automation tools.
  • Experience working independently with minimal supervision and guidance.
  • Experience with operating systems and software upgrade planning and implementation.
  • Fundamental knowledge of and experience working in a DevOps or Jira-centric environment.
  • Excellent communication and collaboration skills.
Work Environment:
  • The noise level in the work environment is usually moderate as the employee works in an office setting, at an individual work station, using telephone and computer
Physical Demands:
  • Must be able to remain in a stationary position for most of the day
  • Constantly operates a computer and other office productivity machinery, such as a printer/copy machine
  • This position needs to occasionally move about inside the office
  • The person in this position frequently communicates via telephone.
