Position Summary: Working collaboratively with peers and ENGEO’s technical leaders, you will gain experience working on a wide variety of challenging and world-renowned projects. You will be encouraged and supported to manage geotechnically challenging coastal engineering projects with a concentration on coastal structures, beach nourishment, and resilience planning which may involve feasibility studies, engineering designs and analyses, numerical modeling, report preparation, plan development, permitting, and construction engineering services.

Primary Responsibilities (to include but not limited to)

  • Lead and manage projects
  • Prepare civil/coastal engineering designs for shoreline protection and restoration projects, groins, jetties, breakwaters, and other waterfront improvements. Design earth-retaining structures, slope stabilization, corrective grading, and landslide mitigation
  • Assess sea level rise and wave runup impacts on coastal structures and infrastructure
  • Perform logging of borings and test pits, observation of pier and pile construction, and other construction observation, such as observation of rock revetment
  • Prepare permit documents and coordinate with regulatory agencies
  • Perform other relevant duties as required

All Candidate Criteria

  • Three or more years of engineering project management experience
  • Licensed as California Professional Engineer or licensed in another state and can become licensed in California within 6 months
  • Education: M.S. in Civil with Environmental or Geotechnical Engineering specialty
  • Experience with slope stability and foundation design and construction; deep foundations, and shallow foundations
  • Seismic and GIS experience a plus
