Position: Manufacturing Zone Execution Engineer

Location:

  • Wentzville Assembly (Wentzville, MO)

Duration: 1 year contract with potential extensions/conversions

Shift: Monday – Friday, 40 hours per week (8-4:30/5pm)

Compensation: $40-$50/hr

Exact compensation may vary based on several factors, including skills, experience, and education.

Must Haves:

  • Bachelor’s degree in Mechanical Engineering, Manufacturing Engineering, or related study
  • 3+ years of experience engineering the assembly methods, process, and/or execution for automotive industry
  • Experience with developing the method, tooling, processes, and sequences required to assemble the vehicle, working with suppliers to deliver tooling per assembly specifications
  • Experience speaking with suppliers, vendors, or plant representatives and holding those relationships
  • Ability to meet with local tooling suppliers and occasionally travel to Metro-Detroit for pre-production builds / tooling trials


Plusses:

  • Master’s degree in Mechanical Engineer, Manufacturing Engineering, or related study
  • 5+ years of experience engineering the assembly methods, process, and/or execution for automotive industry
  • Experience in automotive manufacturing with a focus in automation


Job Description:

Insight Global is looking for a Manufacturing Zone Execution Engineer to support an automotive client. Each engineer will be engineering solutions and optimizing the manufacturing methods, process, sequencing, and specified tooling for a “zone” of 30+ workstations in the final/general assembly of a vehicle. The Zone Engineer will facilitate and manager the tasks, engineering changes, and solutions needed for that zone to be executed for launch. The Zone Engineer will need to have a strong familiarity with the tooling and process for assembling a vehicle, preferably the final assembly. They will be responsible for communicating with plant representatives, tooling suppliers, and internal engineering teams (ergonomics, industrial, etc.) to optimize their zone and implement solutions for any process or engineering changes for their zone. Factors such as tooling, time standards, ergonomics, and manpower will be designed, trialed, and mapped for the given upcoming vehicle program to ensure the most efficient and safe process is in place for proper manufacturing of the vehicle.
