We are looking for a passionate and dedicated Water Resources Engineer in Tampa, FL, who will support local and regional environmental water resource projects in planning, data analysis, reporting, data management, and design.As a key member of our Tampa, FL team, you will be involved in a variety of exciting and challenging projects including stormwater/watershed planning and civil design work, site testing, site investigation and field work, plans and permit review, hydraulic and hydrologic model development and review, and reporting on climate change and sea level rise. You will work under the guidance of Project Managers and Senior Engineers, provide mentorship to those junior to you, and work alongside peers to help you grow your career.Join us and we will assist in continuing the development of your skills and exploring all that you can do across our global company, with opportunities to share your knowledge along the way.Our Tampa, FL office is looking for someone to help support ongoing watershed management planning projects and stormwater design project with many of the Tampa Bay area Clients, who are looking to address growing flood and climate related risk. The candidate will support the senior engineers and senior designers in planning and design projects associated with watershed planning and drainage improvement projects.• Bachelor’s degree in Environmental, Agricultural, Biological, or Civil Engineering, other hydroscience or related field is required• A minimum of 3 years of experience related to water resource projects, and environmental or civil engineering• Experience with Hydrologic & Hydraulic (H&H) Analysis and Modeling and Stormwater System Design• Experience using ArcGIS and ArcHydro tools for H&H modeling applications• Experience with H&H modeling software ICPR4, EPA SWMM, HEC-RAS• Working knowledge of AutoCAD recommended• Knowledge and proficient use of Microsoft Excel, SharePoint, Word, and PowerPoint is required• Strong technical writing skills• Strong communication and facilitation skills• Be self-driven, motivated and able to perform duties independently with minimal guidance.Ideally, here’s what you’ll also have:• Experience in Southwest Florida Water Management District Watershed Management Plan projects (including GWIS database framework and development)• Experience in the various water management District’s ERP processes• A master's degree with a water resources tract, hydrologic science or environmental or civil engineering• Professional certifications are preferred (Professional Engineer or Professional Hydrologist)• EIT certificate or the ability to obtain is highly preferred• Experience with scripting/coding with respect to analysis and GIS software and languages such as Python, R, SAS, SPSS, MathCad, VBA.• Experience with HEC-HMS, Mike SHE Suite, WinTR-55, and StormCAD• Experience with and understanding of OneWater concepts and framework• Experience and understanding of climate change and resiliencyJacobs is an Equal Opportunity/Affirmative Action Employer.
