Design Engineer (Structural)
We are currently seeking an individual to join our team as a Design Engineer in the Structural Services Division.
Duties/Responsibilities:
This position supports the mission of the Structures Division by collaborating with the licensed engineer and preparing engineering designs or evaluations for various projects. They will be a part of the design team in the execution and management of projects.
• Perform structural evaluation of existing buildings and components and prepare engineering reports.
• Utilize software to perform structural design and/or analysis of footings, foundations, beams, columns, floor assemblies, and lateral bracing in various materials including reinforced concrete, structural steel, masonry, and wood.
• Prepare bid specifications and contract documents for new construction and repair projects, including the preparation of supporting construction documents or details.
• Perform progress inspections of construction projects and prepare construction observation reports.
• Perform inspections of structural damage and prepare detailed engineering analysis reports.
• All aspects of project management, including communication with project inspectors, technicians, and clients.
Required Skills and Abilities:
• Advanced decision-making and problem-solving skills and ability to use sound engineering judgement.
• Excellent organizational and time management abilities.
• Demonstrated project leadership and teamwork capabilities.
• Strong interpersonal and written communication skills.
• Proficiency with computer systems to maintain project documents including, but not limited to, AutoCAD, Microsoft Office Suite.
• Ability to multitask effectively in a fast-paced environment.
• Knowledge of BIM Technologies (REVIT).
Education and Experience:
• Bachelor's degree in Engineering related to construction (Civil, Architectural, Construction) with a concentration in structural engineering.
• 4-5 years of experience in structural design and analysis for buildings.
• Experience in a construction or engineering office.
• Professional Licensure preferred.
