Role

NurseHub is seeking a talented and creative Sr. UX Designer to prioritize, lead, and execute all UX/UI initiatives. To date, all designs have been built in-house, and we are excited to welcome our first-ever UX expert to bring our learner experience to the next level. This position will partner closely with our Director of Product & Engineering and will report directly to the Founder & CEO. Collaboration with our Content, Learning, Learner Success, Marketing, and Copywriting teams will be crucial to developing a world-class customer experience.

Due to the unique and creative nature of the UX role, this position is a contract to perm opportunity. This will allow both NurseHub and the candidate to ensure a mutual fit and creative vision. The proposed contract term is 30 days.

Responsibilities - Contract Period

  • Evaluate the current user experience and user interface of , identifying areas that require improvement for a smoother, more intuitive user journey. Assess performance, mobile-responsiveness, site structure, and overall design. Identify areas where copy needs to be improved.
  • Research and analyze leading e-learning websites to identify best practices and innovative features that could be implemented to improve the website's overall performance and user engagement.
  • Create a detailed proposal outlining recommended changes and enhancements, including wireframes, design mockups, and an implementation plan that prioritizes key improvements.
  • Implement 1-3 key redesigns, partnering with appropriate team members through the process and gaining approval of Founder & CEO. Example redesign initiatives include: developing an intuitive mega-menu that enhances navigation and directs users to key site areas, updating our home page, optimizing the checkout process for higher conversion rates, and designing a new question bank feature.

Responsibilities - Perm

  • Design Strategy & Planning: Act as NurseHub’s in-house UX expert, remain up to date with the latest UX/UI trends and innovations; Collaborate across the team to define and prioritize UX goals and requirements; Develop and maintain a UX strategy that aligns with the company's vision and objectives; As NurseHub scales, evolve our UX strategy to align to key goals, including number of members, B2B partnerships, and extending customer lifetime value; Advocate for user-centered design principles throughout the organization; Assist in integrating AI features and products throughout the user journey.
  • User Research & Analysis: Conduct user research to understand the needs, behaviors, and pain points of NurseHub’s target audiences (future nursing students, current nursing students, and colleges & universities); Analyze user data and feedback to identify opportunities for improvement and innovation; Create user personas, journey maps, and other artifacts to communicate findings and insights.
  • Interaction & Visual Design: Design intuitive, engaging and interactive user interfaces for web and mobile platforms; Create wireframes, prototypes, and high-fidelity mockups to effectively communicate design concepts; Develop design standards and guide the team to ensure consistency.
  • Collaboration & Communication: Work closely with cross-functional teams to ensure a seamless user experience across all touchpoints; Present design concepts and rationale to stakeholders, incorporating feedback and addressing concerns.
  • Usability Testing & Iteration: Plan and conduct usability testing to validate design solutions and identify areas for improvement; Iterate on designs based on user feedback and testing results; Collaborate with the development team to ensure accurate implementation of designs.

Desired Skills & Experience

  • 6+ years UX/UI design experience, with a strong portfolio showcasing successful projects.
  • Excited about NurseHub’s mission & product.
  • Proactive, inquisitive, open to feedback.
  • Experience in e-commerce and/or e-learning.
  • Understanding of conversion optimization.
  • Ability to accurately scope projects, move quickly, and complete initiatives on-time.
  • Ability to produce high quality designs with minimal input.
  • Confident in making recommendations and taking creative control.
  • Proven experience with conversion rate increases & click-through rate.
  • Experience with education, nursing, healthcare, Wordpress, LearnDash are a plus.
