Join our Team as a Mechanical Piping Detailer!
Power House Resources is seeking a highly skilled Mechanical Piping Detailer for a 12 Month project located in Cartersville GA.
The ideal candidate would be a detailer with 5 years of pipe detailing experience. An experienced superintendent looking to move out of the field and into the office would be a great fit.
Their primary role would be to perform QC on the ISO pipe drawings being generated by our 3D modeler to confirm they are consistent with the designed/as-built condition. They would perform quantity verification of the BOM and assist with identifying potential fabrication/installation issues. The scope of material includes SS, PP, PVC, HDPE and small bore piping.
JOB SUMMARY
The designer shall work in a team environment to develop accurate, constructible, coordinated, and timely Mechanical Piping system models meeting the client's drafting standards and fully coordinated with the architectural & structural elements of the building trades (sprinkler, ductwork, piping, etc.). A Mechanical Piping designer will also be responsible for providing accurate shop drawings that support the construction team. The designer will report to the modeling supervisor and be responsible for interacting with the fabrication supervisor, detailers, project managers, project engineers, and the field foreman.
DUTIES & ESSENTIAL JOB FUNCTIONS

• Accurately model Mechanical Piping systems in compliance with project plans, project specifications, and code requirements for the purposes of producing fabrication documents (spool sheets and drawing) from the model.
• Coordinate all Mechanical Piping systems with: ductwork, mechanical equipment, other trades, architectural and structural elements of the building.
• Coordinate all Mechanical Piping to provide safe and adequate access in accordance with manufacturer and code clearances to avoid installation conflicts in the field.
• Utilize the fabrication team to provide annotated, dimensioned shop drawings, spool assemblies and spool drawings.
• Review and distribute fabrication information including assembly sheets, and spool drawings to project managers and field leaders.
• Effectively and proactively communicate with project managers, project engineers and field foremen during the drafting and construction process. This includes communication of challenges and schedule progress on a timely basis (weekly at a minimum).
• Use Company tools to manage requests for information and shop drawing progress.
• Proactively identify and communicate areas of deficiency/gaps along with proposed solutions on projects to support timely completion of work.
• Work with project manager and field foreman to create As-Built condition drawings for projects.
• Produce all documents on time and within budget (estimated drafting hours) in a timely manner based on job requirements to meet commitments to our customers, both internal and external.

BASIC QUALIFICATIONS

• High school diploma or GED
• Minimum of 5 years working in the Mechanical Piping trade or 5 years of Mechanical Piping design experience using Revit 2019 or AutoCAD

PREFERRED QUALIFICATIONS

• Experience with Mechanical Piping drafting using Autodesk Fabrication CADmep software.
• Ability to layout and size mechanical piping and similar activities.
• 2-year Associates Degree in drafting or similar area.
• Ability to visualize three dimensional layouts from two dimensional drawings.

Requirements
Qualifications:
- At least 5 years of experience of Pipe detailing experience, focusing on public works projects in the water and wastewater municipal sector and or large piping industrial EPC projects.
- Bachelor's degree in Construction Management, Civil Engineering, or Mechanical Engineering.
- Must be based in Georgia.
