SnapIT Solutions has a full-time opening for an experienced Senior Java Engineer. We are looking for an organized, detail-oriented person with proven skills to work collaboratively with our federal government customer. This is an 80-20% (remote-onsite) hybrid working position for KCMO OR 100% remote.
The client is working on cutting-edge technologies that include but are not limited to - Java, Angular, Python, Docker, Kubernetes, Blockchain, AWS technologies like S3, API Gateway, EMR, Kinesis, Lambda, EKS, SQS, Aurora and DynamoDB.
Key Activities
- Applies the principles of software engineering to the design, implementation, configuration, and optimization of solutions in support of applications, databases, test automation tools, and Commercial Off the Shelf (COTS) products.
- Demonstrates technical skill in at least one programming general purpose language (Java, C#, Python, etc.) and domain specific language (HTML, SQL, proprietary vendor language, etc.), as needed.
- Performs peer reviews using software engineering principles, patterns, and development guidelines.
- Partners with customers in the development of innovative solutions that achieve business goals.
- Reviews and analyzes business and technical requirements and implements technical solutions to meet those requirements.
- Provides on-call support, troubleshooting, root cause analysis, incident management, and service request management for supported products and environments.
Required Qualifications
- Typically requires at least 6-10 years of relevant experience.
- Bachelor’s degree specializing in STEM (Science, Technology, Engineering, Mathematics), or a closely related field, from an accredited college or university, or equivalent combination of directly related education and/or experience.
- Languages: Java, SQL, Python, Shell Scripting.
- Frameworks/Libraries: AWS SDK, Spring, Maven.
- AWS Services: ECS, S3, IAM.
- Software: Docker, Gitlab, IntelliJ IDE.
Preferred Qualifications
- Grafana/OpenSearch experience (or other monitoring/alerting tool).
- Experience implementing/following security controls in a security-sensitive environment (from a government agency or other company with a well-defined security posture).
- Experience with security tools and remediating vulnerabilities (SAST, DAST, dependency scanning, etc.).
Location
- HYBRID - Kansas City, Omaha, Denver, Oklahoma City OR 100% Remote if living in other areas.
Screening
- US Citizenship is required.
- Treasury level screening is required. The areas screened may include education/employment verification, criminal history, credit history, and reference checks.
Job Type: Full-time
Pay: $120,000.00 - $150,000.00 per year
