JOB RESPONSIBILITIES:
* Releases and maintains engineering drawings and specifications
* Assesses requests for changes and deviations from vendors and plant
* Diagnoses and corrects deficiencies
* Provides technical direction to support personnel
* Coordinates test and/or development programs
* Coordinates engineering projects with other departments or vendors
* Maintains communication with vendors and/or customers on a regular basis
* Prepare technical data such as qualification test procedures, acceptance test procedures, reports, component maintenance manuals, etc.
* Other duties as assigned
REQUIRED QUALIFICATIONS:
* Bachelor's degree in Mechanical Engineering, Electrical Engineering or equivalent experience
* A minimum of 3+ years" experience in product engineering
* Proficient in oral and written business communication
* Ability to generate clear and concise formal presentations
* High level of analytical ability where problems are unusual or difficult
* Deep understanding of engineering theory and principles of design
* Ability to work independently and with others in a team environment
* Understanding of powertrain system operation and components
PREFERRED QUALIFICATIONS:
* Experience with automatic transmission operation, clutches, gears, hydraulics, and controls (both hydraulic and electrical
* Familiarity with automotive powertrain industry manufacturing processes and technologies
