Senior Network Engineer

Location: Mark Center, Alexandria, VA

Work Schedule: 100% Onsite

Clearance: Possession of an active DOD TS/SCI security clearance and eligibility for w/CI Poly.

Certification: IAT Level II Baseline Certification (e.g., CCNA Security, CySA+, GICSP, GSEC, Security+ CE, CND, SSCP).

Primary Responsibilities:

• Offer technical expertise and support for integrating and consolidating networks across different systems environments.
• Create and assess technical plans for integrated solutions, including tasks, milestones, schedules, and critical steps required for successful outcomes.
• Identify and resolve technical issues related to network hardware and system installation and upgrades.
• Engage with customers, vendors, and technical personnel to analyze both business and technical requirements, such as establishing new network connections.
• Develop and document technical presentations, engineering standards, standard procedures, guidance documents, status reports, and present them to senior leadership.
• Contribute to the development of network architecture, engineering designs, and modifications.
• Assist in evaluating existing and emerging technologies by conducting technical assessments and providing recommendations.
• Collaborate with key partners in various technology areas to prevent conflicts, spot innovation opportunities, and improve operational efficiency.
• Maintain communication with customers on matters of significant importance to the organization.
• Successfully complete individual projects and tasks.

Basic Qualifications:

• Education: BS degree with 12-15 years of relevant experience or a Master's degree with 10-13 years of relevant experience.

Preferred Qualifications:

• Prior experience with DISA and DISA’s support to mission partners.
• Proficiency in cloud-hosted networks.
• Master’s degree in IT, Cybersecurity, or a related field.
• Ability to translate highly technical matters to a non-technical audience.
• Strong communication skills.
• Deep technical knowledge in network services and architecture (WAN/LAN/VPN).
• Experience with the following technologies:
• Cisco Switches and routers
• S2S connections
• DMVPNs
• Advanced routing (BGP)
• Palo Alto Firewalls
• AWS network design and implementations (VPCs, Route 53, Amazon Firewall Services).
• Decision-making ability with appropriate escalation when necessary.
• Extensive experience in security domains and industry best practices, including business continuity, disaster recovery, and emerging technology.
• Self-starter with the ability to work independently or as part of a team with minimal supervision.
• Knowledge of Information Technology Infrastructure Library (ITIL) Foundation.

Job Type: Full-time

Pay: $170,000.00 - $185,000.00 per year
