Andalusia Design – Senior Architectural Designer
Andalusia Design is an architectural ceilings and walls manufacturer disrupting the commercial specialty market by delivering novel, high-design architectural systems to the design community. Andalusia achieves this business model by combining novel front-end parametric tools with on-site digital fabrication capabilities.
We are seeking a highly skilled Senior Architectural Designer with 5+ years of experience in the architecture field. This role requires a strong design sensibility and technical expertise, especially in parametrically designed systems. The successful candidate will model our innovative architectural product solutions using Rhino and Grasshopper while working closely with architects and designers across various design platforms.
Essential Duties and Responsibilities
- Collaborate with architects and designers to create and model both standard and customized architectural solutions using Rhino/Grasshopper.
- Work across multiple design and rendering platforms (Revit, AutoCAD, SketchUp, Enscape, V-Ray, etc.) to ensure seamless integration of designs into architectural client project workflows.
- Provide design expertise and guidance to ensure that all solutions balance aesthetic quality with technical precision.
- Manage project timelines and deliverables from the specification stage through to project completion and follow-up; communicate regularly with clients.
- Lead the creation of detailed technical documentation and manage project deliverables.
- Communicate and collaborate with internal teams and external partners to translate design ideas into actionable solutions.
- Develop and maintain trusted, long-term relationships with architects, interior designers, contractors, and other key stakeholders.
- Manage client and project information in MS Dynamics CRM, SharePoint and Miro.
- Balance multiple projects and proactively communicate
Qualifications:
- Bachelor’s degree in Architecture, Interior Design, or a closely related field that provides a strong foundation in technical design principles.
- 5+ years of architectural design experience, with a strong focus on parametric design, product modeling, and fabrication techniques.
- Proficiency in Rhino, Grasshopper, Revit, AutoCAD, SketchUp, Dynamo, Enscape, V-Ray, and other industry-standard platforms.
- Understanding of materials, manufacturing processes, and installation methodologies for architectural products preferred.
- Strong design sensibility with the ability to conceptualize innovative solutions while maintaining technical feasibility.
- Ability to manage multiple design projects simultaneously, meeting deadlines and maintaining quality.
Location & Reporting
This position works out of Austin, TX, and reports to the Chief Commercial Officer. This is a full-time, salaried position and exempt from overtime pay.
