Position Overview:

We are seeking a Cloud Infrastructure Engineer with expertise in AWS environments to develop and automate processes and procedures. The ideal candidate will have strong skills in Terraform, Ansible, and GitLab, and hands-on experience with Infrastructure as Code (IaC) using Terraform and CloudFormation tools. This role requires proficiency in container orchestration, cloud security best practices, and troubleshooting cloud operation issues.

Key Responsibilities:

1. Develop and implement processes, procedures, and automation to support AWS-based environments.
2. Utilize Terraform, Ansible, and GitLab for automation and infrastructure management.
3. Build and manage Infrastructure as Code (IaC) using Terraform and CloudFormation.
4. Work with container orchestration tools such as EKS and ECS.
5. Apply high availability (HA) and disaster recovery (DR) principles and patterns.
6. Implement networking principles and technologies, including DNS, load balancers, and reverse proxies.
7. Articulate and apply cloud security best practices.
8. Troubleshoot cloud operation issues, with knowledge of IP networking, DNS, TGW, Security Groups, and Linux OS.
9. Develop and promote infrastructure technology standards through automation and service-based deployments in AWS.
10. Configure and manage EC2 and VPC.
11. Understand and apply DevOps patterns and practices.
12. Follow agile processes for project management, development, and tracking.
13. Document and resolve issues, escalating to stakeholders and IT management as needed.
14. Maintain awareness of on-premises virtualization technology.

Qualifications:

1. Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science or a related field.
2. Extensive experience with AWS cloud technology.
3. Strong skills in Terraform, Ansible, and GitLab.
4. Proven ability to build IaC using Terraform and CloudFormation.
5. Proficiency in container orchestration (EKS, ECS).
6. Familiarity with HA and DR principles and networking technologies.
7. Knowledge of cloud security best practices and troubleshooting cloud issues.
8. Experience with EC2, VPC, and DevOps practices.
9. Experience with agile methodologies for project management.
