As our Product Engineering Manager , you will be responsible for managing a major function of the engineering activities for the reporting unit with budget responsibility for the engineering functions managed. You will be responsible for the employment, training, motivation, and evaluation of assigned staff.
Location: Santa Clarita, CA
Salary Information: $133,000.00 - $180,000.00. Please note that the salary range information provided is a general guideline only, reflecting a position based in California. Your Challenge
- Managing a team of Electrical, Mechanical, and Software/Firmware Engineers to do Detailed Design and Bring-up of subassemblies for systems designed by the systems engineering team.
- Ensures adequate resources are available for projects, standard tools are available to perform tasks, and creating and monitoring processes.
- Responsible for programming, executing, and supervising engineering design, construction, installation and/or ongoing engineering support of facilities, systems, and technical policies and procedures for the assigned engineering function.
- Directs the development of system requirements and specifications for various systems through multiple phases, makes decisions and recommendations that have impact on engineering and related activities of the division.
- Standardize Product Documentation.
- Documentation configuration management.
What You Bring
- Strong mechanical engineering leadership.
- General understanding of rugged embedded system design challenges, including thermal management, high-speed electronic design, FPGA, and microcontroller firmware and software.
- General understanding of Design to Cost, Design for Manufacturing, and Design for Reliability, including supporting documentation.
- Over 3 years of managing a team.
- Defense industry experience a plus.
- Safety certified experience a plus.
